Default What I have learned from Patriots week...

I've learned that with few exception (PatsWin comes to mind), the Patriots fans who have come here are completely arrogant b@stards. "Come talk to us when you've won three" seems to be their definig comment. They should remember that just a handful of years ago they were one of the definitions of post-seasoin futility. "Nancy Drew and the Patsie Boys" was a common name for them around the NFL for years.

Try to remember your humble beginnings guys. Most of you come off as badwagonners.

Personally, I'm beginning to hope that the Broncos absolutely humiliate the Pats this week just to shut their more arrogant fans up!

This week has been tough to take to tell you the truth. I'm not used to the animosity here.

Many new fans from both teams turned this place into FinHeaven West a few days ago.

Once the game is overwith the regulars will be here (myself included) and things can get back to normal.

This week has turned into the biggest pissing contest I can remember....from the message boards to print media to radio stations.

It's unbelievable.........and I'm not so sure in a good way.

Unfortunately, you are correct. My only request is they make themselves available AFTER the game. If they come back and "whine" similar to the methods employed by Tom Brady though, stay hidden in your hole. We'll hear none of it.............dman

Well I've gone to the pats board and talked some smack, nothing much, and I was well received. Typically the ones that go to another teams board are often the worst of the bunch and are looking for a fight. If the impossible happens, I'll go and eat my crow on the pats board.

Davdog, I was conspicuously abscent from about 2003-most of 2005 only because I was out poking holes in the ocean on a nuclear powered submarine for the finest Navy in the world. I'm back and here to stay (just finishing up a 30 year stint), however still must perform my duties in the military which does take me away from the board for periods of time, I'll be here, good or bad. Not a whole lot scares me these days.......dman

It's amazon how a little trash talking really upsets "true" fans.

A Typical Discussion with a Pats Fan

Pats Fan: Pats are gonna cream Denver this week.

Rational Human Being: It should be a good game. Denver has a good shot to pull out a win though.

Pats Fan: No way! The Pats are riding a playoff winning streak!

Rational Human Being: Well they never had to go on the road in the Divisional round against a team that was coming off a bye and finished better than them in the regular season.

Pats Fan: PFFT. The season doesn't matter, it is how they have played the last few weeks that counts!

Rational Human Being: The Pats didn't look that good against a horrible Jax team at home last week. They made lots of mistakes and it was only 7-3 at halftime. Some brutal tackling on Watson's TD and a missed FG helped run up the score but the Pats should have manhandled that team throughout.

Pats Fan: They'll elevate their game when they need to.

Rational Human Being: What makes you say that? In all of their previous playoff runs they have been pretty consistantly dominating throughout. That wasn't the same team we saw last week.

Pats Fan: Brady will find a way. He always does. Or Plummer will screw it up.

Rational Human Being: Actually Brady was pretty average on the road this year. He had 12 TDs and 12 INTs with an 83.6 rating, nothing spectacular. And Plummer played pretty well at home, 9 TDs and only 2 INTs with a 96.3 rating.

Pats Fan: Well the Pats have a better coach.

Rational Human Being: I agree he is better than Shannahan, although I'm not sure the difference is so great that it is going to play a big factor in a NE victory.

Pats Fan (starting to froth at the mouth): We are going to win three straight Superbowl victories. No one has ever done that.

Rational Human Being: .........yes..........I am aware of that, but how exactly does that help you win this week?

Pats Fan (convulsing, eyes rolling back in head): I AM WEARING MY LUCKY BRADY JERSEY! GO PATS GO! WE GET NO RESPECT! I LOVE YOU TOM BRADDDDDDYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

(Pats fan goes running off and drops wallet. Rational Human Being picks up wallet and opens it to find picture of Tom Brady with giant heart drawn around him.)

That's great, I did a 4 year stint in the AF and my brother is a career jar head but I don't see the point of bringing it up on a football message board.

I've been here along time, your the visitor, thats the point...dman
Even hinting at possibly being intimidated to the point of not returning to the board by someone such as yourself is simply ludicrous. Your the visitor from where I sit. Second, what the hell happened up in the NE area?? I grew up in NH and we were faithful, but never to the point I've seen here recently. I'd like to think that most of the folks up there aren't as obnoxious as some the NE visitors have been here on this board. Really sad to see. I'm thinking that some of you folks up their need a healthy injection of humility to bring to whole lot of ya back down to earth. See you after the game....

Bah. I just wish the f***ing game would be played already. It sucks waiting all damn week. And Patsy is right. This place is turning into finheaven. I'm not sure when it started happening, but we're being overran with childish posters. I hate you all...so very very much.

Meh. I don't think the level of trash talk is any different than usual. Just a little more of it since more posters are active. Mostly it's just been people complaining that their team isn't getting the credit it deserves, and a lot of we'll do this and no you won't chatter.

Alright I'm going to play devils advocate here. I'd say the Pats fans represented themselves well at the last home game and I realize this thread is about the online pats fans. Granted we beat em down pretty good and it probably would have been different had the score been in their favor.

With that being said "**** the Patriots" they are the enemy in our way now.

Thank you.

I wasn't going to say anything. But i'm currently in the military as well. And i don't see the point in saying so unless you're trying to get literary reach around's from random posters. It's not like there was a draft or anything.

I don't know - I guess I think that if you have won three out of the last four, you probably can't help but be a little arrogant. Overall, I don't think they have been all that bad. And the likableness (is that a word?) of PatsWin balances out the bastardness (I know that isn't!) of the bad ones.
