Damn right they are over hyped not only did we lose the pole on ESPN yesterday on whether or not we would beat the Pats, but today they are voting that the Pats have 55% of the vote to be the team taking a road win out of all the games this weekend. Please the Pats are good but this is a new year and they are coming to Denver. Plus there is nothing better than seeing Sean Salibury "Steak" be wrong, you mark my word Salibury "Steak" will be all about the Broncos next week

The Pats Overhyped? No way.
I heard the Pats are joining up with the X-Men to stop Apocolypse. |

This should be another good weekend for football. Every road team has a very legitimate chance of winning. The Steelers are physical enough to over take the Colts, the Panthers are balanced enough to beat the Bears, Washington already prooved they can beat Seatle, and New England doesn't do anything but win in the post season.
Instead of being upset about some Poll, you should be excited that you have 4 really good matchups to watch. |

I'll be serving New England Clam Chowder in bread bowls and some Maine lobsters for the required "eat-your-opponent" foods, and I think I'll go ahead whip up some Sean-Ka-Bobs as they are a staple of my football parties. I'm also tinkering with the idea of some green chile. If I remember correctly, you gave us your recipe, let me see if I can dig it up. |

Ahhh, in my search for your green chile recipe I realized you were talking food on another thread.
Here's bendog's green chile recipe ... green chili soup. 5-6 14.5 oz cans chicken stock 12 Poblano chilis 1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes (or whole and dice em up) oregano, salt and pepper to taste 1.5 cup white onion chopped 3 cloves garlic minced. 5-6 pieces bacon. char poblanos on a grill or under broiler, steam and remove skin and seed them, and cut them into 1/4-1/8 strips (can be done a week or so ahead of time and freeze chilis, but leave skin on until they're used. fry bacon in soup pot, take out bacon and reserve. saute onion and garlic in bacon fat. add chicken stock and tomatoes. (bring to boil and reduce to slow simmer.) add chili strips simmer for 2 hours. taste and adjust with a little oregano to cool the chili taste. salt and pepper to taste. Serve with sour cream and shredded chedder/monteray jack and warmed tortillas. You can also make your own chicken stock with some bone in breasts/thighs, and remove the the meat and add it to the soup at the end. Or, you can do a boston butt pork roast, and pull the pork and add it at the end. |

I jumped the tailgate forum on the food subject. since this is a 7pm game, I'll be drinking Odouls ... though I'll switch to hard stuff cause I did last year's playoff game on the wagon. No bad karma this year.
I've got a time crunch on Sat. My usual housework, plus still have christmas stuff to put away in the attic, and I may have to take my kid to the barn. If so I may ride my bike out there, though these Miss drivers scare me, and skip the gym till Sunday. And, this is meals on wheels weekend, so I gotta cook vegies for 15-20 on Sun. Plus, I'm not getting crap done at the office, so I may have to write memos at home. (-: And, I've sworn off trying to cook two meals for the family per weekend. ONE meal for the freezer. A godsend (-: has been we go to a different church now that has GREAT food on Weds family night. 15 bucks for the 3 of us. Creole Meatloaf tonite. I am psyched. I'm wanting to do my once a year green chili, but prolly no time. I found some goat cheese in the fridge, so I may get some boneless breasts, pound em out, and roll em up with goat cheese and a poblano. Ground Chucks on sale and I got brats in the freezer, and it's 60degrees today, so I may just grill. |

Sheeeesh, that's a lot of work before the game man!
The chicken and goat cheese sounds really good. I can't stay away from the green chile though, I'm going to try your recipe. |

So what happens when the Patriots win the super bowl this year? Seeing that the last time any team was able to win more chapionships then 2 in a row was back with Greenbay and the days when the super bowl started. When was the last time a team won 10 straight playoff games, when was the last time a team won 21 games straight. They are not over hyped they are doing something people thought was impossible since they added in salary caps and free agency. |
