Default Friendly wager

Hello all,

Patriot's fan here. I've been lurking on and off anonymously for the past year, and have a lot of respect for the general knowledge as well as team loyalty of people on this board.

With the upcoming divisional game between our teams, it's natural for all of us to get excited about our respective team's chances. Unlike many threads that I've read from my fellow Pats' fans, I consider the Broncos a formidable opponent, one of the league's strongest, most balanced, and consistent team. Here you are, well rested, and the fact that Denver has traditionally owned us (I'm not afraid to admit it!), especially at Mile High (or Invesco Field), only add to the distinct advantage. Having said that, I also feel a strong sense of loyalty and unwavering confidence in my own team, and would like of offer the following proposal:

If the Denver Broncos win this Saturday's game, with every recognized wager, I will gladly send a small donation, say $10, to the Orangemane.com to help support this excellent site. However, if the Patriots manage to come out on top, whomever takes up this bet with me will likewise send a $10 donation to Patsfans.com, a fan site that I regular visit and wish to support.

I feel that rather than trash talk and trade insults, this is a better way to show faith on our team (by placing your $$ where your mouth is), have a little fun, and at the same time show a little appreciation to people that create sites where us fans can congregate. Obviously, I can only handle a limited number of bets, so the first 10 takers will be on my list. Fellow Pats fans are welcome to take part.

If I lose, I will definitely uphold my end of a bargain, and make sure that an administrator here verify it. If I do win, I will leave it up to the integrity and sportsmanship of whomever take my wager to man up to his bet.

So how about it Broncos fans ? Do I have any taker? I'll check back frequently for responses.

Here's to a clean, exciting, hard-fought, and injury-free battle. May the best team wins.

cheers.

i think its pretty safe to say if all of us were near each other and was betting on our teams that the pats fans would never bet more than 1 freaking dollar on the pats winning.you can talk chit about your team winning and beating us here in denver but i guarantee you dont have the faith in your team that we do to bet a very very very hefty wager.when you want to find out how much faith a person has in their team just bet them a very large amount of money and they will shut up very quickly.

Thanks for the reply, you are first on my list. Again, I'm not here to troll or insult anyone, and will not respond to any trash talk.

you don't know me or my betting habits, so why the belligerence? Don't you think it's much easier to go to my local bookie for a personal bet rather than here on a public forum ?

Like I implied in my original post, this is meant to be fun and to help support the forum, not for personal gain.

Seems http://www.patsfans.com/ is a pretty acomplished website i was hoping it was a small website such as ours that could use the money.

perhaps there is a smaller pats fan site which will suffice in Devour's mind?
There are 2 popular Bronco sites after all.

I normally go to Patsfans, KFFL, and sometimes PatriotsPlanet. To be honest, I'm more of a "lurker" than a "poster", but I visit them almost on a daily basis. Whichever you guys prefer is fine with me.

So are you matching the $30 so far? I assume you are, as opposed to $10 to the mane vs $30 to patsfan.com?

Props ( )for posting a post without any of the crap your fellow fans have been throwing out there. And yes, we have ours aswell, Terry proves that.

I guess I havent noticed him too much with all the traffic we've had lately Dagmar.... what's the poop with the backlash on this Terry983458043985 guy? I notice he has a similar posting style to Doufer on first glance. Well, that and the lack of using caps in posts I guess I havent paid much attention eh?

yes, $30 so far to the mane. Wouldn't be fair to match $10 against $30 now, would it? If I have 10 takers, that would be $100 (don't worry, I still got some from the win agains Jax ) Got paid 4-1 with NE+under, lol.

Regarding the crap, I understand the enthusiasm all fans have for their team, but I just don't feel the need to troll.

BTW, I'm very impressed with Jake's play this year. He is certainly far more deserving of a Pro Bowl spot than most of the NFC qbs (Vick, geez). One observation is that it seems he played mostly with a lead all year. I wonder how he would respond if he has to rally the team from behind. In other words, how do you think he would do if it was up to Jake to win the game? Is there any precedence this year? This is an honest question, not meant to be a backhanded compliment. Any thoughts ?

lol. Can't watch a game unless I have something riding on it, although I normally don't wager much on NE games. Hurts too much if they lose.

Do you know the approximate ratio? IF I was not a fan of either team, I would have to seriously consider Denver.

Well, it's getting late here in Boston. I'm calling it a night. Check back in the am.
