I have been reading alot from the sites and watched some ESPN. It really is amazing to me how everyone is all over the Pats. I feel they are ruling on emotion and really aren't looking at the facts.
The facts are the Pats play in the weakest division in the NFL. The facts are the Broncos play in the toughest. The facts are the Pats had one of the easiest schedule the Facts are the Broncos had one of the toughest. The facts are that the Patriots are 10-6 while Denver is 13-3. The fact is that out of teams NE has played that are top 12 in the NFL NE is 1-5 while Denver is 5-2. The Fact is that NE is one demmensional on offense. Dillion gained all of 40 yards last week and has had a terrible year. The fact is Denver is extremely well balanced both running and passing and is the best in the business at scoring early. The facts are that N.E.'s secondary is dreadful and since the injury to Harrison they have been one of the leagues worse secondaries. THe fact is Denver is completely healthy for this game and their secondary has been very opportunistic forcing lot's of INTs while shutting down the run game. Denver is going to score points(they always do) N.E. can't run the ball so that tells me the only way N.E. can come to Mile high and win is that they need a super human effort from Brady and they need to force 3 Denver turnovers. Of course this could happen BUT I don't see it. Denver will run the ball effectively enough to open up some very big pass plays to Lelie and Putz. Rod will lead the team with 8 receptions for 91 yards and Plummer will be very efficient. Denver 31 N.E. 23 |

I dunno man, their schedule wasn't that easy. And their division definitely isn't the weakest (see NFC west).

Meh, as they say you can throw out the regular season as the Postseason begins a new. Denver to me is the stronger team and we are at home but Brady and the Pats have a lot of ( successful ) playoff experience. I see this being a lot closer and probably down to the wire but like i said the Homefield advantage is going to be the difference here.

Denver 31, New England 7. Anderson over 100 and 2 TDs, and plummer throws one. and then bailey picks off brady, and while bowing to brady the whole way, runs it back from 31 yards out.

all the season stats and playoff experience mean absolutely nothing.the bottom line is that denver is the better team this year and with the homefield advantage.unless you are blind you can realize that denver is the better team this year.its not rocket science.taking nothing away from the pats because previous years they were the better team but not this year so i dont understand the media being blind except for their bias.biasness and discrimination is just a fact of life i guess.

New England will be befuddled and dumbfounded at their lack of execution in the first half as Denver rolls through their offense like "Babe" steering sheep into their pens. The crowd is angry, hungry and unwilling to give Tom Terrific even the slightest piece of Christmas Ham. The Patriots come out inspired in the second half as their season rides the line, but Al Wilson looking like an old Jack Lambart fires up the boys into a hard hitting wine stomping. Brady makes another inspired attempt in the fourth quarter, however the media has already packed up their laptops and headed for DIA. Patriots find the Broncos foot on their throats as they gasp their last gulp of championship air before the Broncos twist their heel, puff out their chests and go home to the kids.

was just trolling over at patsfans.com. those ****ers are overconfident, all "broncos BARELY beat us when all our starters were injured," and "nobody can run against our D," and "broncos will be lucky to lose by less than 10," and blah blah. man, i can't wait to lay the wood to these punks. they're in for a surprise. better dust off the old golf clubs, tom.
that's my analysis. i also predict peter king will still rate them higher than the broncos in his fine fifteen even after we beat them. bleh. what a strokefest (no pun intended). |

Here is a prediction for you. New England, in a blinding snow storm, takes a 20-0 lead into half, Jake Plummer, cutting lose, ties the game, momentum on our side...until the patriots sack plummer, causing the ball to come out of his hands...the patriots recover...until the replay shows it was a tuck...Broncos get the ball back, and in a swirling snow, Elam kicks the game winning FG as time expires, Broncos win, 23-20...

quoting Atlas...
>The facts are the Pats play in the weakest division in the NFL. AFC South, NFC North and NFC West fell shorter than the AFC East. >The facts are the Broncos play in the toughest. True. > The facts are the Pats had one of the easiest schedule Not true. They played the AFC West and the NFC South. Both are the top two divisions in each conference. They also played the top 2 teams remaining in the AFC. No team had a tougher schedule outside of their conference. > the Facts are the Broncos had one of the toughest. You said that already. >The facts are that the Patriots are 10-6 while Denver is 13-3. The fact is the Pats are 1-0 and Denver is 0-0. Welcome to the playoffs. >The fact is that out of teams NE has played that are top 12 in the NFL NE is >1-5 while Denver is 5-2. Too much work to bother researching that one. Anyway, Denver fared better against tougher teams. >The Fact is that NE is one demmensional on offense. Dillion gained >all of 40 yards last week and has had a terrible year. Yep, they pass more. And they are successful at that, too, >The fact is Denver is extremely well balanced both running and passing and >is the best in the business at scoring early. Sorry... Denver runs quite a lot more than they pass. #2 in rushing attempts at 542; #25 in passing attempts at 465. There is no balance there. >The facts are that N.E.'s secondary is dreadful and since the injury to >Harrison they have been one of the leagues worse secondaries. Pats are ranked 31st against the pass, Broncs are ranked 29th. Know your team. One team is going against the 18th ranked passing offense, the other is going against the 2nd ranked. Advantage Pats. >THe fact is Denver is completely healthy for this game and their secondary >has been very opportunistic forcing lot's of INTs while shutting down the run game. The Broncos are 100% healthy? I am impressed. Last edited by trench; 01-10-2006 at 02:21 AM.. |

The media should be all over the Pats and should be picking them to win.
I mean after all what have they done the last couple of years except win three SuperBowls? compared to Denver: Who have choked badly in the playoffs last two years running. Like it or not we don't deserve any respect until we go out there and take it by finally winning a playoff game this century. |

Lets consider yds/play. NE yds/attempt is 7.66, Denver is 7.25, slight advantage to NE. Denver rushes 4.7 yds/rush, NE 3.4 more than a foot differential, major advantage to Denver. Now consider the Ds and teams both teams played (much stronger schedule for Denver), then your stats are even poorer. Now lets consider Defense. If you use a very poor statistical method, then you would just look at yds per game, but that says absolutely nothing about the quality of the D (btw, GB has the highest rated passing D by that standard, have you seen them play ). Denver faced by far the most passes in the league, so it is only natural that it have the most yards passed against it. But break down the stats and what do you get:1. Denver is ranked 4th in points allowed in the NFL 2. Denver is ranked 4th in the NFL is yds/pass (so much for 29th!) 3. Denver is rated second in the league in TO ratio 4. Denver is ranked 2nd in interceptions for the league 5. Denver is ranked 6th in the league against percentage completions 6. Football outsiders, who ranks D based on the opposition, among other factors, ranked the pass D 4th in the NFL 7. Denver's O ranks higher than NE by every measure (except passing, but not much difference there) even though it played much tougher teams. Edit: Denver is 3rd in the league in points allowed, again, against much stronger opposition Last edited by Merlin; 01-10-2006 at 06:10 AM.. |

Denver and New England both have fine teams, and neither one is going to take the other lightly.
Brady is 10-0 in the playoffs. That's pretty awesome. Home teams win 82% of the time in the Divisional Round. That's the biggest margin of the home/road variable all year. (The home team wins about 58% in the regular season, 70% in the wild card round, and 57% in the conference championships.) Denver and New England both finished strong. The Broncos have won 9 of their last 10, with the single loss coming in a close game at Arrowhead. The Pats have won 5 of their last 6, with the only loss coming in a close game in Miami where they rested many starters and played around with stunts like the drop kick. A couple of columnists have even suggested that the Pats threw that game to avoid a first round matchup with Pittsburgh. Regardless, the Pats are hot. Between them, Shanahan and Belichick have won 5 of the last 8 super bowls. Neither one of these guys got where they are today by underestimating their opponents. Denver is going to have to win this game like almost every win we've had the past decade.
By running the ball down the throats of the defense. Mike and Bell are rested and ready. With all due respect to Jake, Rod, Putz etc, it's time for the OL and our RBs to carry this team. They'll be the ones paving the road through the playoffs and I personally I can't wait for Marine Mike to pound the ball inside and Bell for run outside on the perimeter. The more runs the better. |

The only reason Denver is ranked that low in Pass defense is because they are blowing teams out by the first half. |

I expect us to come out throwing a lot if you ask me to losen up the defense, the Pats secondary is weak, weak, weak...and I don't care what the injury report says (godbill lies) ...Brushchi is not going to be close to 100% even if he plays |

We get passed on alot because nobody can run on us. They have to pass in order to move the chains. Most of your analysis was ok but you forgot the most important thing. Top to bottom we are the better team and will prove it come Sat. ![]() |
