Default Hearing the same thing EVERY week...

Goes something like this (and mind you, this is just typical analysis from messageboard fans):

Ahem-

"Shut down the Denver running game and force Jake to make mistakes. That's how the (fill in team here) will win".

It's comical.

You know, you're right. and every fan base from every team across the NFL seems to believe this and it's totally not true. I mean it hasn't worked, right? What are Jake's interceptions for '05 season? 7?

You can try to shut down the Denver running game, but eventually it will bite you in the ass.

Example - Cowboys game. Anderson not getting it done. Running game was stagnant for the most part. But Denver couldn't abandon it. When Anderson was held up, Dayne came in and saved the day.

That's how this Saturday could pan out. If Anderson doesn't work, then Bell will. If Bell is slowed, then Anderson could hit on a big one while Dayne gets some cracks.

Three different styles with the same result. b****es get run on.

Never mind the fact that the Broncos had 191 yards rushing against the Giants
and 131 yards rushing againts the Chiefs. Basically the only way to beat
the Broncos is to catch them napping.

its not about the yards, its about the attempts.
if we run 35+ times, no team will beat us.

Run the ball all you want.. Maybe the Patriots will just concede a safety and win the game.

It's a great plan...on paper.

And it is what I would do if I was defensing the Broncos.

It only works, though, if:

1) You are willing to stick with it, even if you get burned on the play action a time or two, and

2) You get the Jake of seasons past.

So far, there haven't been many that have come through with both 1 and 2.
