Default This has gone on long enough

I love Joel Quinville, but he is shooting himself in the foot by not letting Aebi play out his slump.

Maybe we'll see the real stuff from Aebischer when he plays in the Olympics for team Switzerland.

Maybe then Quinville will come around, and we make the playoffs.

The fact is, Aebischer is 11-7, Kolsnik is 3-3, and Budaj is 4-7

Those records are extremely misleading. Aebischer has gotten much better goal support than either Kolesnik or Budaj. He's also managed to get a no-decision in a few games where he was pulled for giving up too many soft goals and Budaj was stuck with the loss when the offense managed to make those games close.

The fact is that David Aebischer has played terrible hockey except for a few games during his winning streak. Budaj and Kolesnik have been much better between the pipes; neither has given up as many backbreaking soft goals as Aebi.

The other fact is that the defense has been horrible in front of all three goalies. With the amount of quality shots these guys have to face they also can't be giving up easy goals, which Aebischer has done all season long.

If we kepts Aebischer in, he would have rode out his slump.

Vannanen has been extremley dissappointing this year. So has Blake... Liles is playing good offense, but needs to step up on defense.

If all of our defenders played up to their expected level, then there is no problem.

Skrastins has been our best defender. I'm so impressed with this guy. He is a pheonomal defensman, responsible, and very much unheralded. Plus he comes cheap. I think Karlis Skrastins is one of the most underrated players in the league.

At this point in the season, from what I've noticed, its the loss that hurt us more - not the loss of Forsberg.

What the Av's need is a staple defenseman. Possibly trade one of our high scorers for one. And I would HATE to see Svatos, Tanguay or Hejduk go. Sakic wouldnt bother me as long as we got an equally good defensive player - its not going to happen though.
