"Secondly, there are such things as roving wiretaps. Now, by the way, any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires -- a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we're talking about chasing down terrorists, we're talking about getting a court order before we do so."

Yes, Bush has the right to tap that sort of call under FISA.

He can even get a retroactive warrant so that there is no waiting period if he needs to act as quickly as possible on some piece of intel or another.

However, he chose to circumvent the FISA court and the entire judicial process.

That's where he committed a crime.

Recently, President George W. Bush, a/k/a "Bush II," --a would be "Emperor," if there ever was one--was forced to own up to the shocking fact that in Oct., 2001, he had covertly ordered the National Security Agency (NSA), to spy on countless U.S. residents. Is Bush, too, losing his mind? Coming on top of his damnable lies that got the U.S. into the Iraqi War, this is another very disturbing bombshell. [4] Bush has been spying on our citizenry without the required court orders and in direct violation of the liberties guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and in other laws of the land. Question: Is Bush's acting contemptuously, and above the law, in this latest disgusting scandal, going to be a tipping point for the American people? When are they going to stop putting up with his crazed antics? Will this repulsive episode be, like Caligula's "horse thing?" Well, I sure hope so!

Oh I agree , I am not saying Bush didnt commit a crime , all I am saying is incomming international calls comming into the USA should be fair game ...
and I agree about the 72 hour rule , though Republican spin doctors are pushing this , if we wait it could be to late horseshít .. make the tap , then contact the court , everyone would be happy ........
if I didnt know any better , I would say Cheney /Bush are on a power trip ,using 9-11 to wield a broad sword ......... Naaa we both know that isnt the case ......

Huh?

How can you even think somethin' so unpatriotic, Spider?

Why, everybody knows Godly, blameless Dubya and Uncle Dick don't need no stinkin' Constitution to decide what's best for 'murica.

Shucks, why pay attention to some dumb old 200 year-old piece of paper when you got a direct line to Jay-sus, anyway?

And that dumb ass "judicial oversight" stuff is for God-hating, apple pie-hating, troop-unsupporting, Arab name-havin,' fancy pants book-readin' liberals like you and your communist friends!

Consequences of this go beyond privacy. We work with a lot of large companies overseas (like Nokia, Sony Ericsson, etc..) for whom secrecy is an absolute obsession. Industrial espionage is absolutely rampant in this industry.. knowing that American calls are being screened by ANYONE is a very good way to absolutely shut down their interaction with U.S. companies. Like it or not, we do a lot of business overseas and any hint of something like this is going to cost thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of American jobs.

Costing America thousands of jobs is just "bidness as usual" for the bush crime family.
