Well, it had a great personality.
And with a win almost only the Broncos could love, Denver increased its lead Sunday in the AFC West race after a 12-10 victory against the Baltimore Ravens at Invesco Field at Mile High.
"We didn't know about any of that out there," Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer said. "We were just trying to get a 'W' for ourselves. They're not going to all be pretty. From here on out, we don't know how they're going to be . . . and really, we don't care. Right now, you get the 'W' and you don't look back. Just keep on going, do what we need to do."
The Broncos' win, coupled with losses by the Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers, gives them a two-game lead in the division with three games to play in the regular season.
The Broncos (10-3) watched the final minutes of the Dallas-Kansas City game in the locker room after their victory, erupting in cheers when Chiefs kicker Lawrence Tynes missed what would have been the game-tying field-goal attempt.
"For the most part, I never really keep up with who is chasing who or who is in front of who," Broncos safety Nick Ferguson said. "It's good to know we have a two-game lead, but we have to handle our own business."
The Broncos have split with the Chiefs this season and will face the Chargers in San Diego on Dec. 31 in the regular-season finale.
The Broncos' skin-of-the-mouthpiece win against the Ravens also kept them just ahead of the Cincinnati Bengals - the Broncos have a better record in AFC games - in the race for the remaining first- round playoff bye. The Indianapolis Colts wrapped up home-field advantage through the AFC playoffs by beating the Jacksonville Jaguars.
