I had the pleasure of attending the game today and want to make a few observations.
1. The Ravens D is as good as advertised, when you are the #1 defense in the league with an offense that leaves you on the field forever, continually turns the ball and cannot score. That is really saying something, and they were all of that. We rarely run the ball effectively against good 3-4 teams, and the Ravens are all of that. When you don't run effectively, it takes away a lot of what Denver does well in the passing game, play action, so it is not surprising that it was tight. 2. Denver's D held up very well. In spite of several very short fields, and bending on a number of drives, when the D needed a play, they got one. giving up 10 pts in the NFL is an accomplishment. Baltimore is a team that is built around the power running game and they gained 72 yards on 23 carries. Throw in the loss of DWill early on and I thought Denver did a good job of playing conservative but solid D. 3. Where were the fans? The homefield advantage was not what it could have been. I know the Ravens don't have a great record, but this is meaningful football in December and SD and KC both proved that you'd better come with it, or you'll get it handed to you. 4. There was a huge amount of negativity on the radio from the fans and from the idiotic David Treadwell et al on the Fan after the game. Denver doesn't score a ton in the 4th quarter because they don't have to. They get a lead and take the air out of the ball. Bad Jake is safely tucked away as they try to run the ball and get manageable 3rd downs and chew up the clock. They can do this because the D is making plays and stopping people down the stretch. |

I noticed that today. Invesco is horrible right now when it comes to noise. I dont know if its the way the stadium is designed or just the lackluster of the fans but it was almost a home game for the Ravens. ![]() |

The Ravens' defense is good, period. I know they're banged up, and they may not be the feared defense of their SuperBowl run, but they're a pretty decent unit.
They know how to contain our run game, and it showed. A lot of teams try to shut down our run game, and they simply can't. Either they don't have the players or the schemes to do it. The Ravens can. |

The Broncos always play poorly against Baltimore. Don't ask why, it just always happens.
They did enough to get the win, that's good enough for me. |

Not defending the wine & cheese crowd, but we didn't exactly give them a lot to get fired up about today.

I'm happy as shiit with this win over the Ravens. It's good to get that monkey off our back! We've struggled with them for 5 or 6 years now. They know how to stop our offense... it's just one of those things, kind of like the Colts in NE in January! |

That's a lame ass excuse. It's a mystery that we still have the home winning percentage the last couple of years that we do. I think the reports that the crowd is getting better in Invesco is alot of wishfull thinking. I remember my first game, CP scored 5 TDs on the queefs, some prcik told me to sit down. Dang, how many times do you read on here that fans go to the game and get told to sit down. I mean wtf kind of **** is that? Did people get told to sit down in the old Mile High?! ![]() |
