Default Ways to Fill the Need for a New WR

With the draft beeing somewhat weak this year for elite wr talent and FA having a fairly shallow pool as well how about a mid round choice to San Fran for Rashaun Woods. Many here were high on him two years ago. Since then he's been a bit nicked up and unused in SF. Sundy could check with Dwill and Tater for a background check on him and see where we go from there. Maybe a 3rd rounder for him? Any other thoughts?

Maurice Stovall out of Notre Dame in the 2nd or 3rd. I donīt like any of the WRs that are currently projected to go in the first.

Right now I want Michael Huff and a DE or DT in the first. I want this defense to be dominant. Thatīs if we can keep the O-Line together and Lepsis stays.

2007 could be the year to get a receiver if Samardzija decides to play football and if Dwayne Jarrett declares, which he probably will unless he gets injured or his production takes a huge drop.

Moulds is going to be a FA. Wouldn't mind picking him up.

We dont have any offese problems. Once again we are rated very high in total offense. We need help on defense we are statistically bad. We need a speed rusher and Huff. I think we spend one more draft year on defense and then try and get some WR help. I think our offense will be competitive for another year.

Don't forget about a dominating DT, and the ripple-effect he would send through our entire defense. We get a dominating DT and it would bump our Defense up a whole LETTER GRADE...

David Givens as a FA. Did anybody see that Blackman kid from BC yesterday? He's been playing DB and WR but I think he could be a real find in Round 2-3.

I think we DO need a WR in 2006. Rod will continue to play, but we don't want to bring in a rookie the year after Rod retires. A WR will need a year or two to develop, especially in the Broncos' WCO.

He had his name called a bunch yesterday that's for sure. He looked good, I was equally impressed with him and Kiwi. Kiwi's been hurt a lot this year, he cold slide to us w/Wash's pick. It would be a tough decision between Kiwi and Huff if it came down to that!

Another guy in the secondary that I hope we look at later in the draft is Cedric Griffin. If you watched any of UT's games this year you probably know this guys name is called as often as Huff's! He has good size (6'2, 190) and can play CB or Safety as well. Right now he's the 9th rated safety by Scott Wright. That would put him in the 3rd round somewhere... I'd love to have him competing in our secondary!

Griffin is a very good solid player not as flashy or as fast as huff but he is a very smart guy who is rarely out of position. He would be a good hand for us.

Kiwi could slide with all the DE's with first round grades and the addition of some of the junior DL. I think Kiwi is viewed as a bit more of a work in progress and there are concerns about his injuries. He would be a steal in mid - late round 1.
