Default Crush the Ravens, Evermore!

My first attempt at poetry since days of high school - to go with our tailgate theme tomorrow...

Once upon a December day, while we Broncos pondered with hardy sway,
Over many a quaint and curious reel of football lore,
While we watched, hands a clapping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one weakly rapping, rapping at our Mile High door.
`'Tis some visitor,' Shanahan muttered, `tapping at our Mile High door -
Only this, and nothing more.'

Ah, distinctly we remember it was in the bright December,
That we contemplated their dismember, leaving Raven courage upon the floor.
Eagerly we wished the game be on; - we would fiddle with them like pawns
From our playbooks we would soar, so well, some TV fans would think it a bore,
For the Broncos so talent laden whom all Mile High lovers adore -
Winners here for evermore.

And the Ravens, while refitting, yet unwitting, yet unwitting
Did try to win with Boller and Heap, the rest a depleted corps
And Lewis’ eyes had all the seeming of a demon's, but it was dreaming,
For he listed out and so too others, leaving an uneven score
And the fans, many a jeering, did continue their constant roar,
Crush the Ravens, Evermore!

When the RatBirds come to town
EveryOne feigns a frown
We are bold
They will fold
Ray Ray is on IR
We will go Har Har
Three trips to the bar
Waitress claims keys to the car
We dance in the street
It very merry week
Soon we will see
Madden with glee
Take out Manning
Shut up Madden
Go to Detrot
Start a revolt

I know it's weak but it's late....

Not plagiarism at all. By my reckoning, it was part tribute, part brilliant satire. I loved it.

Well done, my man, well done.

Nobody's done a Limerick, so heres a try...

Tas a team from B-More
who came to our door
We'll beat them all night
and put them on a long flight
with their backsides feeling quite sore

There was a linebacker named Ray
Who loved the cameras recording his play
The Ravens' season, dead and clammy
Ray said, "Oops, hurt my hammy"
"I'll take the last month off.......with pay!"

Jacinth "Shorty" Baker and his friend
Didn't know it was all about to end
Thugs took their lives
And Ray hid the knives
What a great message we send

Apparently everyone is having issues with how many syllables a limerick is supposed to have.

I knew a young player named Kyle
Who wanted to go the next mile
After watching him play
At the end of the day
He just made his coach gag up bile

Sanders was certainly great
As we all hear the media state
Despite what he'll say
they'll quote him all day
And his ego they all masturbate

Jamal used to put on some shows
As the record book certainly shows
But he couldn't refrain
from buying cocaine
And now as a runner, he blows

Ok, poet laurete of the Mane, how many syllables is a limerick supposed to have? To be honest, I didnt even think it had a "syllable" restriction.

BTW, good stuff there.
