Default There Is A God and He/She/It Hates Scott Stapp Too!

Martinez said things quickly escalated from there, as Stapp turned and "sucker-punched" Sexton in the face — inadvertently hitting Martinez's wife in the process.

not a big 311 fan at all

but any band that punches Scott Stapp in the face a few times is worth another spin in my cd player

I just wish a metal band or something would have been there. Lemmy would have bit Stapp's head off like Ozzy with a bat.

Oh my Gawd, they punched Jesus! That's horrible! They punched Jesus!

I was sitting here the other day, casually thumbing through my dictionary as I so love to do, when I came across the listing for "has been." Imagine my surprise to see Scott Stapp's picture beside it! I heard part of his new song on a tv commercial, and it sounds nearly identical to Creed. If this guy ever had an ounce of originality, he left it behind with Creed.

Question: Did everyone hate this guy before he left Creed, or was it the circumstances behind his leaving that made everyone hate him?

Crucify me for saying it, but I always kind of liked Creed. And while I don't follow the music scene very closely, I am surprised at the venom Stapp seems to have almost universally inspired in people.

So, was he an ass while he was with Creed, or just since?

He was an ass while with Creed. He outdid Bono on the Jesus thing, which is saying something. Self-indulgent and self-rightous is no way for a band to go through life.

I was born hating him. Seriously though, it started with Creed. It just intensified over time.

The best was the feud between Scott Stapp and Limp Bizkit lead singer Fred Durst. It got so heated that Stapp challenged him to a boxing match, which I was all for because there's just nothing better than two guys I absutely dispise throwing punches at one another.

Just a win-win situation for me.

I dont know...two guys throwing over-handed slap-punches doesnt sound all that entertaining.

I'll say one positive thing about this goof....at least he doesn't sing in that nasal, brattish whine that sinks 90% of post-alternative & emo these days. People like Tom Delonge are forever damned in my book for popularizing such horrible and annoying vocals.

More bad news for our buddy.

To quote the Sports Guy (ESPN.com)'s intern.....

Quote:
More news of Scott Stapp being Scott Stapp. I almost feel sorry for him, like all he wants is a little companionship, a shoulder to cry on ... a friend. Then again, he's soulless and I hate him.

One of the funnier things I've read in the past few months, courtesy of Stapp,

Quote:
Stapp also couldn't resist taking swipes at his more famous rock colleagues. "I met [U2's] Bono and The Edge, and Bono was an a- to me," he declared, before insulting Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl's manhood as "freaking little."

Stapp and Brock Berlin are very good friends. Maybe Berlin was so bad because he was a closet boozer?

I'd be more ashamed to be a friend of Stapp than an alcoholic.
