Broncos flagship 850 KOA has to be one of the strongest radio stations in the country! I live here in San Diego and KOA comes in clear every night on both my car and home radio. KOA's signal is stronger than the local ESPN radio station.
I was wondering how many of you fellow non-Colorado Broncomaniacs can hear KOA on your old fashioned radios? Just three weeks ago, I was able to listen to the Broncos postgame show from Oakland, California at my ride after the Raiders game. I have been listening to Broncos postgame shows since the early 90s thanks to that high watt station. I wouldn't be suprised if there are extraterrestrials who are Broncomaniacs! |

I live in Southern Cal, namely Los Angeles, and there are many instances when I have heard KOA 850 on my car radio.
Nonetheless, games aren't played at night and I still listen to the "eight-minute delay" "live" KOA 850 broadcast on the Game Day Experience from DenverBroncos.com during game times. |

I get KOA here in DC...I love that KOA keeps the game feeds up. I like listening to Logan and Diaz-Infante rather than some of the tools they have on CBS or even fox. Of course, it's fun when Phil Simms is calling the game...If there ever was a bronco homer in the media, it's phil freakin' Simms.

On a clear evening, I can pick up KOA. It's interesting you mentioned that. As a kid growing up in Wichita, about 2 hours south of here, I could pick up KOA fairly clearly. That's how I became addicted to the Broncos in the first place...

Interesting...I've always thought Simms "a Homer Broncofan" but I've seen posts here recently saying just the opposite. |

Good thread 52!
I lived for a time in Ridgway Co. and KOA did not come in at my house so I would sometimes drive to a spot where I could listen to the KOA post game show. |

Off topic, but I was driving back from Thanksgiving "lunch' during the first half of the Dallas game. I'd checked to get the station for the 'local' feed. I was cool, and prepared, to miss the game live. I had my vcr set.
I didn't know that the first 45 minutes of my drive would be alongside BIGASS STEEEL POWER Lines that gave me STATIC, and when I got home I found I'd taped the WEATHER channel and not the game. ![]() |

4X5 most nights here in St. Louis, MO. I have Reserve duty down in Memphis this weekend so I will try to listen to the second half on the drive home.
