Default Smack free Denver vs KC thread

Any chance we could use this one for football talk exclusively? We've got about a dozen smack threads going and while I have nothing against that at all, I figure there should be at least one for actual game discussion.

Any Chefs fans have an early injury report? How's Roaf looking since he came back from his hammy injury? Just trying to get the ball rolling.

This will turn into smack before we hit page 2. This board really is sad sometimes.

Anyways, to the topic at hand. I'm nervous personally, and I think this one will resemble the Dallas game, meaning, it will be back and forth and probably come down to the wire.

If the Broncos win this game, it'll go a long way, IMO. This game is a big deal.

The injury to Keith Burns has me concerned, perhaps overly so. He's been an ace on special teams all year and this was the worst possible time for him to be out of the lineup. Hall has historically torched the Broncos in their visits to KC, Sauerbrun's line drives won't have him taking a knee and the Broncos are without their top special teams guy. Not a good spot to be in.

I more worried about how well LJ runs even without Roaf.....it seems that Priest really need Roaf but LJ doesn't...

Good point. I also want to hear what's the status of both Al and Tatum, if anybody out there knows. It sucks I'm back home for the holidays, I'm missing out on Denver news, talk radio, etc.

Agree, but if Hall is injured, that should even it out.

That's a very good point. I knew losing Burns would hurt, but when you figure what he does on special teams, and who the Donks are playing next...it unfortunate he won't be playing.

Furthermore...I thought the Chiefs looked pretty good against New England. They stalled inside the 20 a couple of times, but the Donks can't keep anyone out of the endzone once they breach the red zone.

It's going to be a very tough game...I just hope it's closer than the last tilt at Arrowhead. The Donks really need to pull this one out.

I would imagine that Bell will be ready to go and that Wilson will play regardless. I haven't read anything on either, just my opinion. Shanahan had said that had Thursday's game been a regular Sunday game, Bell would have been probable, so I imagine he'll be good enough to go. Wilson is just one tough bastard and unless it's something serious, he'll be on the field.

Al finished the game so I can't imagine him not playing considering it was only that he got kicked in the leg, he's fine

I bet Bell plays this week too since he has had extra time to get ready.

KC's pass rush doesn't scare me, Lepsis can handle Jarrod Allen (their only legit pass rush guy) and KC will get burned a few times b/c Goonther has to blitz all out to stop the run

I believe the Chiefs will have Shawn Barber for this game He was activated from the PUP list.

How so?? It is important in terms of staying with the Colts for a long shot at home field, but this game in now way will effect our confidence imo. A big game for the Chiefs(playoff atmosphere) is going to be tough. i cant wait for the game tho, because our team is NO WAY close to last years team. Our D is much improved, the O is by no means a power house, but they are very effective with gamplans.

Going to be another classic matchup!

It seems the whole team needs roaf based on the mullets posts throughout other message boards, but i have faith in our D to shut down LJ and keep him under 70 yards total but that forces the mullets to beat us in the air and if our D has one weakness it is our secondary. BUT after the thanksgiving game will dickie respect the secondary and it's ability to produce interceptions? i think he will and hopefully we can pick a few off. Pressure on trint will be key too the D has to play well sunday (that's for sure) Key coverage will be gonzo and kennison and LJ coming out of the back field so our LB will have to be on the ball. On our offensive side plummer will have to produce like he did in the first 30-10 victory and score on every possesion (hopefully) if we start with 3 and outs, it's going to be a long day in mulletville.

I was suprised to see his name in some reports, because I do remember him being a "key" acquisition a year or two ago. Gotta wonder how rusty he will be if he is activated for the game.
