Default Should Skins call it a season and start Campbell?

They are out of the playoff race I think they need to give their rookie QB some snaps!!! They need to rest Arrington and Taylor too!

On a side note:
Clinton Portis 29 carries 89 yards.
Ron Dayne 9 carries for 98 yards.

At what point does Gibbs give Campbell some snaps??

I would like to see Campbell play some.

But, they are only a couple games back. Playoffs are still possible

That'd be awesome, but they won't.

Ari and Stl are sure wins so Wash wouldn't play rookie. If they lose one then I could see it.

I think they should draft a qb w/ their high pick next draft. never can have too much depth!

They are better than I thought, but we should still get a decent pick....they are on a losing streak...they just dropped below the mendoza line...

As a lifelong AU fan, I would love for him to play, but they are still in contention - mathematically - despite their loss today.

I think its good for him to sit this year and observe. I think maybe sometimes next year, they will play him.

BTW, they are not going to draft a QB w/ money invested in Brunell and Campbell.

They have talked about this on sports radio the last couple of weeks. Gibbs is loyal to Brunell....plus something that has not been said directly but implied is that Campbell is not ready. They kind of mentioned if he was near ready to take over, he would be #2 on the depth chart....he isn't...

That was some brutal playcalling by Gibbs in the 4th. I noticed many people were criticizing him on the radio. I was surprised the defense was still able to breathe in the 4th for as long as they were out on the field. Gibbs did play not to lose again.

As far as the campbell thing, maybe the last 2 games. I have a feeling the skins will want to get as many wins as they can and worry about campbell later. They have been really trashed for their recent trades (rightfully so) and I think they don't want Denver getting a higher pick. Danny boy thinks in this way.

The Redskins should fold it up. They are three games behind the division leader with five to go. There is no way they can win like that, they should start Campbell.

Jason Campbell is going to be a solid QB, not spectacular. I've seen all of his games since his redshirt freshman year in 2001. He went through four offensive coordinators, was unfairly criticize by AU fans, but he came through it w/ a memorable senior year.

He doesnt do one thing great, he's just solid and I think in the Redskins system, he will be a good qb.

Remember, the kid is intelligent because he adapted to so many different offenses at Auburn and put it all together his senior year.

I think people unfairly criticize for the Skins making the trade, but Gibbs and his people felt they think he's their future.

As an AU fan, we are all rooting for him. He's a class guy and works hard.

Maybe we can trade Dayne to the skins for their 2nd next year - do they have a 2nd?

Dayne would fit Gibbs' punishing style better anyway.

It was sad that the great CP was not able to run the ball late & close the door on the chargers. He looked bad, there were decent holes to run through also. I was pissed at Deadskins! Would have been nice to have a 3 game lead on SD!

Washington just played their toughest remaining game and almost won. They aren't out of it yet in the weak NFC.

again Gibbs said it without saying it, Campbell is not ready. You don't throw a player who is not ready out there just to play them....

That doesn't mean much. SD didn't exactly play up to their potential today. The Cowboys and Giants are both better than the Skins, and the other 3 teams will all play the Skins close. They won't lose out, but the Skins are not clearly better than anyone they have left except for the Cards.

I have to say they do play very hard. I think Brunell has regressed and started playing like we all thought he would from the start.

They have been in every game except one, but they can't finish. Gibbs has been playing not to lose in some of these games. That's why it won't matter. Easier schedule, sure...but the way they play in the 4th will not allow them to win out. It's a shame. They can play with anyone, but the coaching staff tightens up with the lead and everything goes downhill.

They can play with but they don't have any playmakers outside of Moss. When you have to drive 80 yards for a score 5 yards at a time it's very hard to put up points.
