Default Who deserves the BCS At-Large Bids?

This is under the following assumptions

1 LSU wins the SEC
2 Texas wins the Big 12
3 USC wins the Pac 10
4 Virginia Tech wins the ACC

For me, there´s 4 possible candidates for the 2 at large bids: Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon and possibly Auburn, that´s coming off wins against Georgia and Albama and is playing really well right now.

Fade´s boys should be a lock as their only losses are to top 3 teams (PSU, Texas) ... that leaves 3 candidates for 2 spots. We all know Notre Dame will get the bid, but let´s see who deserves it.

Oregon: 10-1 record with their only loss being to the #1 team in the nation, USC.

Notre Dame 8-2: Close loss to USC and an overtime loss to a horrible Michigan State team. Won at Michigan, Pittsburgh and beat Tennessee in South Bend, but the only good thing about the latter 2 is their name and Michigan aren´t having a good season, either.

Auburn 9-2 ... losses to Georgia Tech, who beat Miami on the road, and LSU in OT, coming off consecutive wins over Georgia and Alabama.

Either way you look at things, Notre Dame doesn´t deserve a BCS bid. Have a few more things up my sleeve, but let´s get the discussion going first.

And please only vote for 2 teams.

Here's what should happen

Sugar WVA vs SECC
ROSE 1 vs 2
Fiesta O vs Penn State
Orange VT vs OSU

ND doesn't deserve a BCS bid...they've played a weak schedule with 2 losses. The Harris poll has them ranked ahead of 4 one loss teams

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/rankings?pollId=5

Despite being ranked 5 and 6 in the subjective polls...their overall score is 8th..that in a nutsheel tells you about the SOS compared to the better teams.

When you have a system like the BCS, use it. Give the at-large bids to the 2 highest ranked teams that didn´t get in by winning their conference and that´s it. Those teams would be Ohio State and Oregon right now.

Yeah, I know I voted for Auburn over the Ducks, but Auburn is playing as well as anyone right now and if there was a playoff system, Auburn and LSU are just about the last teams anyone would want to face right now. LSU still have to be kicking themselves for the meltdown against the Vols.

South Florida is one game behind West Virginia in Big East play and they meet in early December.

South Florida in the BCS is a real possibility!

You can't spell Bucks without BCS, so we're in for the 3rd time in 4 years(only USC with a perfect 4-4 is better).

I really hope that Oregon gets in, their only loss is to this team named Southern Cal and by my calculations, everyone that has played USC this year has lost.

Notre Dame though, will get it and it's locked in. The Fiesta Bowl gets their choice and with the travel and national fanbase of Notre Dame, they'll almost certainly choose ND with their pick.

Wait for Socal to roll in, he thinks that Norte Dumb is the #2 team in the country Needless to say we disagree on that one.

Notre Dame...They beat USC...and the mich state game was the classic fluke between these two teams that have a lot of history.

If by some miracle your boys don´t get in, I´d love to see them v Auburn.

@ Pain

Loved the quote on allbufs "the appropriate response to notre lame always is: f*** YOU."

if they were in a conference i just might show them some love, but as long as they have their independent status and some extra rules, f*** ´em.

and to make matters worse, just about anyone here is a notre dame fan on college level as their games on nbc europe in the early 90s got them interested in the sport. god, i hate them.

Oregon should be one of them but the power of money and ratings will have Notre Dame and Ohio St in the BCS dance.

This makes your Coral Gables Community College cracks all the more ironic. USF is a "Tier 4" university; directional school central.

Ohio State and Oregon should get the two at-large bids.

Hmm, very tough. OSU has being playing extremely well the last few weeks so they are definitely worthy. and Auburn is a sleeper in my opinion as they have quitely been winning as of late as well. but, i dont think anyone saw ND coming out like they have and aside from losing a close one to the second best team in the nation with USC i think Notre Dame deserves it.

OSU for sure, I also think that the Ducks should be considered, ND is also worthy, the team that isn't worthy is the winner of the Big East. I think half the teams in the MWC could whup them. But when it is all said and done ND will be the team getting in along with the Bucks, they had all the national exposure and faced tougher opponets (IMO) the Ducks played well this year but USC was their only big test.
