My rant around the conferences, 3rd edition
here we go...
So, the BCS can sigh again...I've been talking about ripping the BCS for 2 weeks now, and now is my time to do so. The BCS and NCAA officials can finally breathe that sigh of relief, they can finally let out that "Thank God", and they can finally get to sleep a little earlier now that Alabama has lost and there are just 2 undefeated teams remaining. Whether or not this playoff system would be better off or not or that a computer is deciding what human match-up we have is besides the point in what is wrong with the BCS. What truly is wrong is the hypocrisy that htese BCS and NCAA officials have when it comes to the student-athletes and their respective teams. You see, the same guys that are on camera talking about "sportsmanship" and "fairness", are the same higher up's that are hoping for teams to lose behind close doors. If you think that they were not happy at seeing Alabama lose last week, or UCLA the week before, or Georgia the week before that, then you're just fooling yourselves. These same NCAA officials that have seminars to these college athletes about how they hope nothing but the best for them on and off the feild and wish that they succeed in everything that they do are the same NCAA officials that are hoping that teams lose in order for the bull**** BCS system to look good. They've lucked out this year, the BCS comes away smelling like a ****ing rose because USC and Texas are the only 2 that remain undefeated and it would take a minor miracle for either of them to lose a remaining regular season game. But what about Alabama, Virginia Tech, UCLA, Georgia? They all have been targeted by those BCS and NCAA officials and been rooting against by them. A group of people that are supposedly all about the fairness of the game and the sportmanship of the players are actually cheering against some of these teams in order to make the system that they've implied to college football work.
That is why the BCS is bull****, it has created that hypocrisy amongst the NCAA and whether or not going back to the old national championship ways is right or wrong, at least we knew that these officials weren't spewing a bunch of bull**** when they were talking about wanting these players to win every single game that they play in.
As for the rant around the conferences, I'm really steamed up enough about the BCS to get into each conference, but rivalry is here and it's going to be a fun time for the winners, and a ****ty time for the losers.
