Default Do the Bronc really want.....or need....T.O.

With some rumoring of T.O. to the Bronco's, I was wondering "do you need or do you want him?"

Take a look at what Denver is doing this year. Playing close to flawless football and is getting much attention as the team to watch out for. It appears that the team is hitting on all cylinders with balanced running and passing and maintaining good time of possesion. Defense is solid and very respectable. So, why the heck would this team want a T.O. to come in and possibly screw that up? He will want a lot of attention and a lot of money.
The reason he wants to be a Bronco I believe is because of the team's performance this year and possibility of making a SB. He didn't seem to want to be a Bronco before becoming an Eagle.
I am of the opinion that the Bronco organization is a little too classy for a T.O...........what do you think?

no

it's Chris Mortenson based speculation

it has no factual basis, nor has anyone said we want TO

Shanny has already said this is the best chemistry he has had on his team in a long time

why would we go and mess that up with a locker room cancer?

That's the key. We don't NEED him. We have plenty of playmakers on offense that we can tell TO to take his attitude and shove it...

Question...

I've been too busy to keep up with this saga. (And partly ignoring it hoping it would go away.)

Are people talking about him coming to Denver THIS season after the suspension? I know the trade deadline is passed. How would we even acquire the guy? Wouldn't some team snatch him up if he was released?

If he was released this season he'd have to go through waivers, which would (thankfully) give the Broncos practically no shot at him as the waiver claim system is based on record. The worst teams get the first crack at him.

If he's released in the offseason he's free to go wherever he wants to whoever wants him.

0 teams will claim TO, and he'll become a UFA if he gets cut. The crap teams won't claim him because there's no reason to, and no good team is going to pay him 7/16ths of the base salary he is owed this season.

You make a really good point. All that money in the offseason for a second string guy. He was worth it but it would be nice to see him having more impact. I like what the Broncos are doing in terms of managing their talent.

I don't think they NEED Terrell Owens. I am not sure if they want him. I think some of the speculation is just redundant. Shanahan certainly doesn't mind the press on this. Who knows what other gems will come walking into camp because Shanahan will "give them a chance". Suddenly he's the great samaritan? I guess Maurice did give something to this team after all.

Talkin' heads are free to speculate...anything by a team at this point would be tampering till he's released...first they will try to trade him, but they won't get much. I think he will wind up in Dallas.

That's it...When the Saints move, we arrange for TO to be a one man team in New Orleans. Nothing short of that would appease his ego...

Without a doubt YES. The guy is the best WR in football and is a sure TD every game and is a great target inside the 20 and for YAC and is just a step away from breaking a small gain and going to the house... just see him vs Champ.

That's what I thought. Good, that means there's no chance of him screwing up our chemistry this year.

Though, I suppose you could make the argument that he MIGHT be able to tone it down for a few games just to score a contract next season.

But, I'm glad we won't have to worry about it. Things are going too well.
