Default Just got back from the Oakland game...

Man, what an ass kicking. And to have to sit there, in that sea of blackness and not be able to cheer was almost unbearable. Some thoughts from seeing the game live...

-Jake is great. Every snap I sort of do an inner cringe, but watching him today gave me a lot of confidence in him. He made two bad throws all day. One where he missed a wide open Rod Smith for what would have been a huge gain, and another where he almost had an INT on the 20. That probably would have gone for a score, so Jake got lucky there. But everything else...moving around in the pocket, making a play when he needed, and a great scramble to set up a field goal. We still haven't seen him play when he needs to come back, but he looks really good out there.

-Bell is kind of lame. I love his breakaway runs and all, but he goes down on first contact every time, and never makes anything happen without great blocking. I think Mike actually has a quicker burst to and through the hole. Bell's cutback's look odd, and it seemed like he was slipping and sliding out there today. Not sure why we were using him on the goal line either. Maybe I'm being hard on the guy, but he didn't impress me at all today.

-Warren was taking a double team on most snaps. The man is a freakin' beast. Collins had a decent amount of time to through the ball though. I don't blame Coyer for not blitzing, Porter and Moss are beasts. Watching them run out there was pretty scary.

-For all of Darrent's good player, I think Foxworth is going to be the better corner down the line. Guy was on either Moss or Porter all day, and more than held his own. In fact, he did a much better job of tackling Moss and Porter on quick routes than Bailey did. Foxworth was out there starting instead of Williams today. Anyone else notice that?

-Oakland Col is a great place to tailgate. Really good football environment, you'd never think the Raiders suck as bad as they do. Every fan seemed pretty much die hard, and they all hated the Broncos. But they were all cool too, and I had a lot of fun.

Overall, the team looked very impressive. There was a moment there, after the second fumble, where you felt that the game was about to get really close. Then Darrent made his play and that's all she wrote. Listening to 70,000 boo the Raiders every time they took the field was worth the $80.

I would love paying the money to hear that! 80 bucks for a symphony of Raider Boos would be priceless

I think Bell is getting better at driving forward but Anderson is better.

You are spot on about Foxworth. They were throwing his way all day.

Warren is an absolute beast out there. I'm surprised Trevor didn't get in more plays because of that guy.

We had the exact same score as the Colts but we didn't let the Raider in the game until the 3rd Quarter.

Oakland doubled warren and pryce most of the day. Brown, Ekuban, and Meyers beat the single coverage.

Actually I thought Trevor was quite disruptive today. He got in the backfield several times and forced a fumble. He was in on several tackles near the LOS against the run.

Good to see you had a good time. Spot on with most of it. Bell did lack a burst today, to me it was more to much dancing. A few of those plays he tried to break them loose rather than just do one cut and gain 5 yards.

Warren is doing awesome and i cant wait for next week when a bad Jet OL will have to triple team him.

SO JESTERHOLE>>>> Back on the bandwagon are we? Need we bring up these little bombs that you wrote here not more than a few months ago? I'm sure you were dressed in your full raiders gear. Bandwagoner

I am a long time Bronco fan... but since the Raiders acquired Moss, I am all on their jock. I love the OAKLAND RAIDERS! OMG if anyone thinks the broncos will finsih ahead of the raiders they are out of their minds! Lamont Jordan will run all over the broncos this year... wait and see. Jake Plummer is needs to take throwing lessons from Collins, I mean hell, Tuisasopo is a better QB than the snake. Lets get with the program and transform the Orange Mane into the Orange LAME! Who's with me!?

Man I would have loved to been there. I bet they wanted to hang u hehe. Nothing better than going to a away game and rubbin in there faces. I especially love the all the heckling prior to the game and the silence that follows. Having been to many SeaChickens games when the Broncs came and stomped mud holes in'm. Man they hate Elway. And i rub it in there faces everytime. Last years preseason game was especially nice. Especially the 2 bull dikes sittin behind me trying to kick my arse. Good stuff.

The guy's a Bronco fan. Notice the time and date that those posts were all made during or the fact that those posts are completely contradictory to everything else he's previously said on the board. It's obvious it was either complete sarcasm intended as a joke or somebody else giving him a hard time.

If its one or the other.. I'll leave it thank you very much. I'd be much more interested in seeing what his median yards per carry is, because I suspect that would be far less impressive. Average anything is generally a worthless stat, no more than in this case.

Big runs are nice (and having that threat is huge), but a back who can rack up 4 yards on basically every touch will win a lot of football games for you. Anderson did that yesterday... he pushed the pile on basically every carry. I love Tatum and I love what he can do, but if I'm forced to choose I'll take a true 4 yard per carry back any day.
