Adopt-a-Bronco:
D.J. Williams
Default Kyle Wright

17-27 315 5 TDs 0 INTs today at Wake Forest, who isnt a terrible team.

The kid keeps getting better and better.

One more year of experience and he'll be ready for the pros.

I hope he stays for his senior season, but if he leaves after next year that means he had a Heisman-type Junior season.

Wright did take a step back against North Carolina. He took two huge steps forward vs. VT and WF.

Alabama losses!!!!!!!

They shouldn't since they didn't blow Bama out like we did to Virginia Tech.

It's not going to matter if USC or Texas keep winning. Just give me Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl, please.

Based on what? They were 4-6 going into this game.

4-6 is pretty bad, Ohio State dominated Indiana last week and they have 4 wins, yet I'd consider them a pretty terrible team.

I saw a stat today showing how many Big 10 QBs were starting in the NFL now, and how many the Pac 10 has, it got me thinking was Jim Kelly the last Miami QB that really made it in the NFL? I know the have produced alot of great college QB's but many as of late have not had success in the NFL. I hope Wright won't fall down that path, I love watching college ball and seeing one of these young guys come around during a season. I think Rhett Bomar has turned the tide as well. Every one of the BIG schools have a year like this, they lose alot of seniors at key spots and they drop a few game to "lesser talented" schools with senior leadership. That is one reason that Penn St. has suprised me so much this year, they are a very young team. Hopefully they will stumble to Michigan St. this Sat. so the Bucks can claim the Big Ten title to themselves.

Testaverde was the last Miami QB to make a real impact in the league, preceded by Kelly and Kosar. I think Ryan Clement had the ability to be an NFL quarterback if he wasnt on such bad teams with bad OLines that just killed him and didnt really give him a chance to show what he could do. The fact that Butch Davis blackballed him to the NFL teams didnt help either. Ryan could have been a starting NFL QB if he had come along at any other point in the last 20 years. He was a victim of bad timing. He was one tough SOB and a good QB.

Yo are right I forgot about Vinny. Maybe cause he didn't come on til late in his career. I was just remember all those titles they used to give to schools like Miami was QBU and Penn St. was LBU. I cannot remember his name but he was the QB before Dorsey, in fact I think he played the year before Davis last. He was the QB just as the U started to return to dominance. I think he was drafted by the Bengals. I saw he play and I thought he had some good skills, better than Dorsey.

Your thinking of Scott Covington. Yep he was a backup for the Bengals for a few years and the Rams as well. I didnt think he was that talented. He got lucky in that the team's talent started to make a substantial rise in 98 and 99 and he benefitted from that alot. I think if Clement was there in that period instead of right before him, he would have been a first day pick. Kenny Kelly was an interesting player. He had some good ability, but he went to baseball instead. You are right though in that since the 80s we havent really havent produced anybody who did anything in the league.

Scott Covington is the guy you're thinking of. He was pretty good in his only season starting, including a huge win vs. UCLA in December of '98. After Covington graduated in 1998 Miami turned to Kenny Kelly, who beat Ohio State in his first college start in the 1999 Kickoff Classic.

Kelly got injured late in the '99 season vs. Virginia Tech so Ken Dorsey took over and showed he was the true QB of the future. Kelly decided to pursue a baseball career fulltime after the '99 season and has played in the majors for Tampa Bay, Cincinnati, and Washington. After Dorsey there was the 2-year Brock Berlin disaster and now thankfully Kyle Wright looks like a future Heisman candidate, bringing luster back to the former QB U (which is Michgan now, IMO).

I remember Kelly, he kinda reminds me of OSU's Troy Smith except Kelly had a better arm.
