I expected the Raiders to be a little better than this but in all seriousness how can you hire a time tested and proven mediocre coach and expect the tiger to change stripes?

Norv seems like a nice guy but appears to have the leadership skills that would struggle to lead a whore to bed.

Whats the Over/Under on how many times we sack Collins?

If its 5, I'm definitely taking the over...

Good point Naptown. Why not ask King Carl that question. http://www.nfl.com/stats/teamsort/NF...r?sort_col_1=4 Your chumps are still at the bottom of the league in defense. Same coach same stripes.

That Super Bowl ring in his history kinda clouds things a bit I suppose.

Well I don't know if you notice but we're not to far ahead of the 32 defense...which goes to show those rankings on total yards allowed don't tell the whole story.

KC has the 31st ranked pass D, guess who 30 and 29 are. KC has the 8th ranked run defense.....guess who is number 5.

but Denver while low in sacks...the Denver defense has had 81 penalties committed against it...which is most in the league.

ah yes...the old "Plummer has to screw up sometime" argument...

I'm going to ride the "Plummer playing at a high level" wave for as long as possible. I hope to ride that wave all the way to the Super Bowl and beyond.

We have a better record than most the teams ahead of us in those stats, the numbers really don't translate how a defense proforms but in KCs case their D is their glaring problem in the long run.

If the Broncos execute then we will win...but Oakland has played their opponents tough and we are 1-2 on the road....we could certainly lose this one...but I hope we don't

It's the freaking Raiders! Shannhan has basically owned them since he came here. He hates them, and his team elevates their play even in their bad yrs (the broncs beat them even the yr the Raiders were strong and the Broncos weak). Last yrs debacle was a game that was in hand in the 4 qtr. The Broncos had a 13 point lead with only minutes left. The Raiders needed a droped pass in the EZ by a Denver WR and a lucky field goal block to win the game. If those are the odds they need to win I'll take them. 9 out of 10 they'll lose. As to Denver's road record, yes it is a concern, but not when the location is Oakland.

We've each swept once and have split every other year since 2001.

Shanahan gets up for Raider games, to hopefully that, the rest and the extra week help give us the edge.

Knowing the Raiders, after games like that they usually tend to fold up and pack it in.

Broncos had a 13 point lead with only minutes left....

Unfortunately, that sounds very familiar...in fact, eerily so...let's hope it doesn't happen again THIS year.

Good take Merlin...I hope you're right!!!

Problem is I am still skeptical that we are due for a collapse...

Our defense plays fantastic one game and poorly the next (better yet fantastic one QUARTER...and poorly the next)

I know we CAN win but not sure we will...

Every year when I think we are top notch they show me they aren't..

I'm not going to get my heart broken again this time...I will say this though...

If we win this game in Oakland...then I will finally be ready to think we are for real this year....

So in 10 years playing him twice a yr you have managed about 5 wins? As I said, since he came here he has basically (i.e. not every yr) owned them, even the yrs when Denver was in quasi rebuilding mode and the Raiders were a powerhouse. This yr I would be surprised if the latter did not get swept again.

I'm sorry, but I don't think this game would be a good gauge. Shannahan lives to beat the Raiders, and this yr he had 2 weeks to game plan and rest his players.

I hear ya but I don't look at it that way....

we haven't been 7-2 in a long time and this game would show that we can win on the road against a tough opponent..

no matter who the team is...you have to play well to win on the road (the miami game should've taught us that)

I know the Raiders have had their issues this year...but we are 1-2 on the road...

this is a good test for us

coloradoraider - -ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, what a joke.

This game is going to be tough, always is. As khan said, playing a Fade team that just got off a tough loss plus at Chokeland, it will be a tough game.

But their arguements are lame.
-The ol "Jake has gotta screw up sometime"
-"Just stop the run and their done for" wow thats getting old since it cant be done.
-"Champ is a Chump"

The game will be close, champ or a rook may even let a big play, but with Porter and Moss that is understandable. The better team will win, and this is us.

Prediction...Broncos focus in this game will freak everyone out. I do not think Oakland will be able to stop BOTH anderson and bell. Also, their secondary is banged up, worse then ours is. Smith and Lelie will have solid days, denver does not have to score 49...but it would be nice. Broncos 27, oakland 13.

I'll make this wager - - with an extra week to prepare, and vs. the Raiders . . .

I'm betting the Broncos first possession is a hot knife through BUTTA!

7-0, 12:06 left in the 1st quarter.
