Default AFC West, the best in football?

AFC WEST W L T PCT PF PA STRK DIV CONF
Denver 6 2 0 .750 201 152 Won 1 2-0 4-1
Kansas City 5 3 0 .625 196 183 Won 1 2-2 4-2
San Diego 5 4 0 .556 252 192 Won 2 2-1 4-2
Oakland 3 5 0 .375 185 185 Lost 1 0-3 2-4

Ok, at the midpoint of the season, with the rest having played 9, we’ve played 8, we sit atop, proud. The AFC West from now? I think we can take it, but it’ll be no cake walk. We have 3 road games to them all and one home. KC and SD will be tough. We’re gonna b****slap Oakland, revenge for last season.
KC can perform, if somewhat sporadically, and SD have LT. San Diego are better than their record suggests (poor coaching? Inability to finish games? Who knows…), whereas KC are not any better than their record suggests.

However, after all the smack earlier, I honestly want to congratulate the Chiefs on a gutsy call to win a hard fought game. Especially to Green, who played brilliantly during what must be a very difficult time. Whoa. That was tough. Anyways, they effectively ended the Faiders season, which is always fun.

The AFC West’s standing in the NFL?

Sometimes it is referred too as the best in football. That may be true, it is certainly the best in the AFC in my opinion. Only the AFC North can compete, but they only have two teams with winning records.

The much derided NFC has the NFC East, where all four teams have a winning record, plus the NFC South, which has 2 teams @ 6-2 and one @ 5-3. The other team is the NO Saints, who cannot blame all their problems on circumstance, but imagine playing the season at Folsom Field instead of INVESCO.

That’s what’s grinding my gears America.

What’s your 2 cents at the midpoint, this is just a random thoughts post, just wondering what everyone else’s take on things are. Next Sunday, we have a game to play. Awesome.

The history of this thread...
I wrote it twice between 6 and 7 (9:22pm here in Co now) and my computer farted out on me. Both times. < I swear, I almost did that.

I'm not that insightful (2nd year NFL fan etc.) and appreciate the many seasoned fans on here are, so humor me and give it a read.

Cheers.

The NFC East looks tough. It looks like Philly will lose this game to go 4-4 and slide into last place. Three of their wins were against AFC West teams. Interesting.

I think our division is certainly the best in the AFC. The NFC East looks pretty strong too. Top to bottom, a bit better than the West IMO. Oakland drags us down.

I tell you one thing...the AFC West has the best running games in football. Even Oakland has found one this year.

I said this in the offseason and was told I was crazy... But it's true, top to bottom, this division (with the NFC East, I agree with Bob) is this best in football. The fact is, we've got a lot of talent on all the teams, and we don't have 1 terrible team to bring down the division. (A houston, cleveland, etc)

I'm sure this post will be well received...but...

Ruben Droughns has 646 yards rushing this year.

More than any Denver back!

Clevland also only has 645 yards as a team, while Denver has 1366 which is more than double the yards. Droughns and Portis together still don't have a many yards as Denver or just Anderson and Bell, and they don't even come close to as many TDs.

Now please try to educate us some more.

Funny, that's more than any of your RBs too. Funny how you felt like leaving that fact out.

while we are on stats "boob- kinda like herpes", what is Trints and Plummer stats so far in the season? You dodged this in another thread.

What's interesting is that you would post something like that knowing that Denver is ranked #2 in total rushing in the NFL using a two back system this season.

It must suck knowing that your so called high powered offense can't do the same thing with your two great RBs.

He'll dodge it again or blame it on Greens dad dying or Dicky boy crying to much and getting the balls too wet before the game.

I didn't dodge ****. I admitted Plummer was doing some things better than Trent this year...namely his red zone production.

I've said I was jealous in another thread.

That doesn't mean we suck.
