Do you rank Mike Anderson and/or Tatum Bell in your top 10 best running backs in the NFL?
Here are my top 10: 1. LT 2. Shaun Alexander 3. E.J. 4. Tiki Barber 5. Steven Jackson 6. Willis McGahee 7. Tatum Bell 8. Warrick Dunn (check his numbers) 9. Mike Anderson 10.Priest Holmes I feel like I'm being biased but when I check the stats I'm not so sure... Do you think I'm biased? If so..who is your top 10? |

I would put the combo up there perhaps in the bottom half of the top 10, but individually, I wouldnt.

BTW, How can Priest be 10th on that list? He's much better than that.

Hard to say. Try ranking our tandem vs. the other tandems in the league.

Understood...but if you look at their numbers individually...so far they are rolling with the big boys... As a combo they'd be number 1 I think... |

Last I looked Iron Mike Anderson (a bit O' Marine history there) is #5 in the AFC and Tater is #7. That is pretty flippin' impressive if you ask me. Thunder and Lightning? Nah, been used. Got to come up with something different and good. They call a Grunt in the Suck (ie, Marine infantry), "Ground Pounder". That works for Iron Mike. What about Tater?

They are in the bottom 15 as indivuals. As a combo they are easily number 1.
But if either got a chance to be the only back, they would both be top 5, and Tatum would actually have the chance to be a number 1. |

he may be number 1 rushing wise, but I still like Lt at the top. After a couple years as a feature back, then he may take over that top spot. Hopefully in a couple years we will see that. btw - i also like the combo right now, its working to perfection. ![]() |

Priest is not in the top 10 anymore.
That being said, neither are either of your guys. |

I dont see both getting 1,000 yards this year, though that would be cool if it happened. I see Tatum starting to take over towards the end of the season with Mike being the one used for 10-15 carries. I think Tatum will eclipse 1100 yards, maybe 1200 this year and Mike will end up with 850-950 or so. Just a hunch, but odds are good both are not going to get 100 yards week in and week out. I think the only record either of our RBs has a chance at (and really only Tatum) is the single season rushing average (minimum 100 carries).

Who cares where they are ranked, without the system, offensive line, and tough WR blocking its all for not anyway. The System is why these guys are so successful. I'm not taking anything from Mike or Tatum, but I'd say they are mid-level RB's but thanks to playing in Denver, it makes them produce like stars.

Shanahan went into detail his strategy...he wants to keep Bell fresh so he can knock off those big runs...he gave Ron Dayne a little prop as well...said that if something happened to MA, Dayne is right there...
He wants to wear the D down some then bring in flash...it's working, so lets run with it...I think the two have over 1000 allready...or close...too tired to look...I think it's 1162 between them... |

I don't think I could rank either of our backs as individuals in the top 10. Neither is a complete back, Tatum lacks hands, pass blocking and short yardage ability. Anderson has those but lacks optimum speed and burst. As a whole I would rank them the number two running attack in the NFL behind the Atlanta Falcons, Vick, Dunn, Duckett, Griffin have got the edge.

Despite Portis's struggles in DC, I still think he's a top ten back. He'd have broken 2000 yards in our system.
