Default Reuben Droughns charged with DUI.

Just heard here on the local Cleveland news, Browns' RB Reuben Droughns has been charged with a DUI after he was pulled over by a state trooper late last night.

Droughns reportedly blew a .08, putting him right at the limit, the Browns have not released a statement on the indicent and have not taken any disciplinary action currently.

Man, that sucks. I'm not a drinker, but isn't .08 something like two beers?

People have killed people with zero alcohol in them...many accidents happen that have nothing to do with alcohol. I'm not in any way condoning getting liquored up and driving but I also know that "alcohol related" accident stats are cooked because they will chalk it up as an alcohol related accident if a person has a .01 BAC despite the fact that the .01 BAC had nothing to do with the accident.

It hasnt exactly been a great transition to the Browns organization has it? Not to mention that if their other two backs could ever get healthy, his importance to that team is going to plummet. Sometimes it makes you wonder how pro atheletes could do this to themselves.

If he is 225lbs, it takes 72 ounces of 4% beer in 1 hour to put him at .08

On a side note if he actually blew .08 on the nose his attorney will beat that just on the standard error factor of the breathalyzers.

he doesn't know what he is talking about...A big bastard like you would only be at 0.027452830188679243 assuming 2 shots of 100 proof.

Just 0.0425 % assuming 225lbs and 30 mins.

You can use this calculator that Spider showed me...It is pretty useful.

BS, he could very well chug 1 beer down and leave and blow over the limit. The point system doesn't tell anyone how drunk you are, it only tells how much alcohol is in your blood stream. There is no known fact on how many drinks will give you (x) points if you take a breath test.

I was assuming he had real whiskey instead of that weakass 50% crap. Something along the lines of 80%.

Good find BTW.

There are way too many factors for how much will make you blow what number. You can drink then have to blow 10 minutes later and blow one reading, but if you drink that same amount and don't have to blow till an hour later, your reading will be much lower. There is no such thing as drinking this much will make you blow this amount.

I must be as dumb as the cop that told Rascal two shots in 1 hour would put him over .08 because I am not following you here. 1 beer is not going to give anyone a BAC of .08. I'm not saying a faulty machine couldn't eff that up but it would be nothing more than a faulty machine.

I think he is saying if you drink a beer and 2 seconds later did a breath test you would be over the limit.

Also, just because you don't go over the limit doesn't mean you can't get a DUI. At least in Colorado anyway several years ago...not from personal experience BTW.

Time is a big factor, hence as Rascal mentioned is why that is one of the varibles in the calculator.

He would be correct if you weighed under 45 pounds...As you are at 0.07999999999999999 % at 45 pounds and zero time.

So I guess we better be careful if you see any 45 pound guys driving after 1 beer.
