Default Cullpepper's knee shredded

Not only his ACL, but the MCL and PCL also tore. Said it was similar to Rodney Harrison's knee injury. That's pretty shredded.

The Minnesota Vikings' worst fears were realized on Monday.

Sources close to Vikings Pro Bowl quarterback Daunte Culpepper told FOXSports.com that Culpepper has suffered damage to his ACL, MCL and PCL and will miss the remainder of the season.
The initial examination was unable to determine the extent of the damage to each ligament due to severe swelling in the area. But at some point soon, Culpepper will have season-ending surgery.

Culpepper injured the knee on a 17-yard scramble during Sunday's loss to Carolina.

The Vikings' season has been nothing short of a nightmare, lowlighted by the controversial "sex boat" scandal off the field and disappointing play on it.

Brad Johnson is expected to be the team's starter, but the Vikings are now looking for a new backup quarterback.

Bad luck for him!
Reports saying Daunte may take a year off and go fishing on Lake Minnetonka.

BVP - party animal (-: What about the chorf back up who get's likkered up and sits on wall mounted speakers. Set him up on the fog horn, blow it off and see how far he shoots out into the lake.

As far as BVP goes he was on the radio this morning. They asked if he was going to go to Vegas or some other party destination during the bye week and BVP's response was. "I have no plans...I'm going to stay around the house and rest so I can be rested and ready if the Broncos need me." I think young BVP is maturing quickly.

Confirmed:

Culpepper out for season with knee injury

Associated Press

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Minnesota Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper will miss the remainder of the season, and perhaps part of next season, because of a severe injury to his right knee.

Culpepper sustained damage to the three major ligaments in the knee - the anterior cruciate, posterior cruciate and medial collateral.

Coach Mike Tice said Monday that Culpepper, who was hurt on the final play of the first quarter in Sunday's 38-13 loss at Carolina, will have surgery in the coming weeks once the swelling subsides.

Recovery from such injuries can take up to a year. "He has a long rehab ahead," Tice said.

The Vikings (2-5) will use veteran Brad Johnson as their starter, with Shaun Hill moving up to backup status.

Culpepper, who had been bothered with a sprained MCL and bursitis in his knee this season, was hit low and from the side by Panthers cornerback Chris Gamble while scrambling for a first down.

Nobody is going to trade for the original ceramic QB...Can't stay healthy and vastly overrated even when he wasn't broken down.

Rascal, I was thinking Culpepper will look as old and crippled as McNair looked yesterday.

Meck, I was laughing about BVP. Look, coming out of camp, I'd get hammered too. I may tonite, what the hell! (-: I'd think players could drink, and do, heavily on Sun-Mon and prolly some bleary Tuesdays during the season.

Between Culpepper's performance to this point and now the injury, IMO - he has now unoffically become the biggest single season bust in fantasy football history.

Talk about a well-spent $100 million.

This is awful...and could be career threatening. It didn't look good from the hit when the ghouls kept replaying it over and over. Legs aren't supposed to bend sideways. Being a big, heavy qb doesn't help either with the rehab and conditioning...I can think of another qb or two who may end up down this road.
