Default Has Plummer Turned Into The QB That Everyone Thought He Could Be?...merged

Season Stats:

12 Touchdowns 3 Interceptions 1700 yards passing through 8 games

He hasn't thrown and interception in the last six games we have played.

Out of all the QBs in the AFC West, who would you want at this point leading your team into the playoffs: Trent Green, Drew Brees, Kerry Collins or Jake "the snake" Plummer?

Jake wins hands down. IF he keeps playing at this level and we keep on winning, he has to be considered an MVP canidate.

Unless they win out, I have a hard time seeing 3400 yds and 24 TDs being enough for the MVP. Neither is probably going to be enough to put him in the Top 5 of either category.

I saw him going through progressions today and stand tall in the pocket....he's finally using his brain and the study this off-season was huge for his maturation. I will no longer hold his AZ days against him. It's apparent to me now on how the coaching there didn't make Jake give in to learning defenses...he's no Peyton Manning in the mental game...but he could get close.

Point is he now has all the parts around him working perfectly. I'm hoping that after today Todd Devoe can be the 3rd-down posession guy we've be lacking which will really send this offense into overdrive.

If you have weapons, and more than one guy on the field who can get open you're going to start finding the open man......becuase there will actually be one.

But somehow I don't think Jake will ever get the credit he deserves.......he's playing under the shadow of Shanny and Elway and that's a pretty long shadow.

Right now, you could honestly say that Jake might be in a league of his own when comes to the MVP. Who are his QB competitors that have winning records?

Eli Manning
Payton Manning
Carson Palmer

And you tell me who else?

No QB is blowing away the competiton with his stats this year. It really might come down to who has the best record with the most suitable stats.

Plummer will never get it. Shanny gets all the credit for coaching him and Denver's running game is awesome. Plummer won't get a sniff of the MVP award.

He's playing well, but let's consider...

6-0 at home
0-2 on the road

MVP years include wins everywhere, not just in friendly confines. We'll see...this is still regular season. That being said, he IS playing well.

Your right

Well, they are 6-2 so if they are 1-2 on the road then they are only 5-0 at home. Not 6-0

He's 1-3 on the road and 5-2 at home.

I just thought I would get on the act too.

When Griese was our QB I was thinking how great it would be to have Jake "The Snake" Plummer. When that happened I was psyched. I was a Jake fan from the get go and I think he is proving himself to be a great QB for us.

The only stat I care about is the W. I could care less about how his #'s compare to the rest of the league.

Up until this week, Brunell would have to be included in the mix, along with LT and Alexander, and possibly even S Moss or S Smith at WR.

They're not going to give the MVP to him simply because he plays mistake free football now, and the stats he's on pace for aren't mind-blowing.

When the thread starter threw out that he could start to be considered for MVP, then yeah it starts to matter what his numbers look like compared to the rest of the league.

First of all, WR's don't win MVP awards. Second of all, I still think IF he continues at the pace he is on AND we continue to win, he will definitely finish in the Top 5 for MVP voting. Halfway through the season, who are the top five canidates for MVP so far?

Payton Manning
Eli Manning
Carson Palmer
Jake Plummer
?

That's nice that WRs don't win, Moss was on pace for a 2000+ yard season before this week, so yeah he would get consideration. You also omitted LT and Alexander, and Brunell and Bledsoe if their teams continue to win.

Jake is not going to win with just 24 TDs, stats are going to come into play in the MVP voting.
