I just opened Firefox, upgraded it, downloaded the Adblock extension and filtered the ads out.

I normally use IE because my job basically requires it, but this will be the way to go if the ads stay.

If you add this filter: http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/* (make sure you add the asterisk after that last slash) then they all go away.

The ads don't bother me. Someone is trying to sell something to me every waking moment of my life, so I'm used to the intrusion. I get annoyed by the people who act like its wrong to voice an opinion around here.

I shouldn't have to go away from my favorite browser, just so I can block really, really annoying ads on one website, even if it is one my favorite sites...

IE > Firefox

I've used Firefox, I really don't like it. It's good for unwanted ads, but other then that it's crap IMO.

I can't blame Taco for trying to increase is ad-flow a bit. But, people hate being "tricked." (Pop-ups, spam, ads in every thread.) Obviously, I don't think he's trying to fool anyone... but it's clearly not a tactic people like.

I've been telling Taco he should charge for a couple of years now. Nothing high, just a very low monthly OPTION. I suggested that "basic" members could be here for free, but if you paid .99 per month, you could get all kinds of cool features. (Avtars, etc.)

People are notoriously cheap, but I think most of us would gladly do an auto-PayPal thing of a buck a month. Good lord, I can't stand this place half the time... and I'd pay it.

You get enough people paying a buck a month, and you've not only got the resources to keep the site from crashing after every game, but enough to put a few dollars in your pocket. (God forbid.)

I do like the idea of paying for avatars, I dont think many people care that much for avatars. It's not that important, IMO.

Now if OM went p2p(pay to post), Orangemane would lose half it's members.

Orangemane will lose half it's members if they p2p.

Well, most computer illiterates think IE is better than Firefox.

Most computer knowledgeable people understand why Firefox kicks IE's ass.

Only if you like slower browsing, more virus vulnerability, less options and a general, poorer, overall net experience.

See this is where i had a problem.

IE was 10x faster than Firefox. Overall net experience? Firefox didn't make my net overall better, it was a pain in the ass and was slow.
