Default Killer Instinct

OK, I will stop whining about the refs...or Elam...it shouldn't of come down to that but in the chat room I could see that 1 point hook as clear as a bad moon risin' on a clear night.

What was evident againt NE finally bit us in the ass yesterday...the INABILITY TO PUT TEAMS AWAY...sure, Elam should of hit the FG and it would of put the game out of reach...but we could of buried them...I wouldn't say we were playing prevent on that last drive, but it sure seemed like the coverage was playing soft...Hell, we would of been better off just letting them score with some time on the clock. They worked us like a 1 hour whore for 59:50. I feel for the OF1 crew...they were probably whooping it up with 9 minutes to play, but I kept looking at that 13 points and seeing a hook.

Remember the '98 team? Now I'm not saying at all that this is the same team, but they would have the oppsosition so discouraged by the second quarter they were hanging their heads...did we let up? NO! Why does this less dominant team seem to think it can coast when in the lead? It's freaking driving me nuts!

Was Fergy on valium yesterday? On the rag? One play for some reason only God can possible explain, they go zone and Bailey simply releases Burress into the belly of the secondary...I couldn't freaking believe it...Fergy was nowhere to be found to pick up Burress, and Champ was left picking his nose. God I hate zone coverage because you never know if the guy behind you is paying attention...obviously Fergy wasn't...he was toasted a couple other times, but you don't treat Shockey like just any TE...he's a WR in a big mean nasty smelly evil mood demon that has to be clubbed mercilessly...we treated him like some newborn baby to be cuddled...it drove me crazy...

Yeah I'm venting and I'M MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT TAKING IT ANYMORE...(Network)...

What this team needs to learn is that it's not enough to stick the knife in...YOU HAVE TO TWIST IT WHILE YOU HAVE THE CHANCE...or the guy just might pull out a pocket derringer while on his knees...sounds like a silly analogy, but that's all football is...an organized street fight...so Roman...so cool...time to come home and lick our wounds and get ready for T.O.

This is going to take a few days to recover, but maybe it will wake the coaching staff up so they don't go fetal next time with a lead...

again, I don't blame the team...Fergy had a bad game, but the team, at least to me, seemed to be playing to the whistle all game...I think we can hang this on the coaches becoming too conservative.

They have a 6 game stretch w/4 at home. The two road games NY Jets and Wash. are both winnable IMO.

Denver's had success in SD unlike Denver in KC so there's hope for that game... but it won't be easy. I liked it better when we had TD having a homecoming every time he went to SD!!!

yah but at some pt its called choking. we'll see. SD somewhat like denver has carried a lot of leads in the fourth(in every loss they've had the lead in the fourth).

True, and I hope THEY continue that trend. Still, you can easily make the case that they are a good team and can just as easily go on a 6 game winning streak!

8 Sun, Oct 30 Kansas City
9 Sun, Nov 6 at NY Jets
10 BYE WEEK
11 Sun, Nov 20 Buffalo
12 Sun, Nov 27 at Washington
13 Sun, Dec 4 Oakland
14 Sun, Dec 11 Miami

Which one of these games isn't winnable? If it's the KC game then they just bumped them to 11-5 possibly!

This thread has been hijacked...It's about the lack of killer instinct, not the schedules!

The problem has been for a few years now, we don't rub their noses in the mud...we let them up and they come back fighting...we get them in the mud and snuff them out...

Sorry to sound ruthless...but I'm a Roman...If I could of cut their heads off I would... J/K...I would just break their neck...less bloody...

I think it is about the lack of killer instinct the NFL has in making the schedules.

Always looking for a way to bring people together.

No it isn't...how does the NFL dictate killer instinct fool? All they can do is dictate the schedule, alignment of teams and the way the zebras call the game...it has nothing to do with killer instinct.

The Tiger doesn't set any ground rules, he deals with his environment and when he gets prey, he finishes to survive....

Beezlebub has been explaining the finer points of NFL football to me the past couple days....

Beezlebub says that one you have your prey disabled, you go for the throat keep it there till it quivers to a pathetic end...

Beezer would make a good DC...he shows no mercy...that's the point of my post.

SHOW NO MERCY

Did the '85 Bears show mercy when they were ahead by 13 points? HELL NO...they went up by 23...or 30...they pile drove...now that was an unsually special team, but you should get the point...you CLOSE THEM OUT...we left the door open, the Giants pranced on thru...we have noone to blame but ourselves.

Did the Bears of '85 relax with a lead or did they just keep attacking?

I will say this much...this loss doesn't fall on the Defense, it falls on the offense, and Coyer late...he expected a mistake by Manning somewhere on that long drive knowing that it was 83 yards...well, he was a mistaken fool.

This team doest have a killer instinct, hasnt had it this Century.

The players talk all they want about this year is different, but until they proved it, they dont have a killer instinct.

Championship teams wins these games. Denver is like 0-forever in two-point margin games.

Championship teams dont let teams, doesnt matter how good they are, get back in it week-after-week.

Sure, it happen from time to time, but its happened three straight games.

Its not a choke job or anything like that, this team doenst have a killer instinct.

Its that simple.
