Thought I'd ask. I might have missed the thread on this but I was just wondering when or if we are going to ever be able to use them again.

If I remember correctly, they were taken away (in part) because some people couldn't resist putting soft core porn in their sigs...

Well if people can't adhere to the rules regarding sigs, then I say ban them.

The rep has been taken away, so why not let us have our sigs? Or will TJ have to put even more ads around the forum for this?

Also, there were some sigs that kinda went overboard with volume of graphics... one would often have to hit the scroll button repeatedly just to get past a single sig. It slowed down the surfing experience to the extent that if one was on dialup, turning off sigs was pretty much necessary.

TJ did compensate for the loss of sigs by allowing larger avatars.

But our avatar tag lines are gone again! And I thought that was the tradeoff for when we lost sigs.

Then put a size limit on them 200x100 or something. There is software that he can add in that will remove any sig that is over the size limit.

I hope the sigs NEVER come back! As a matter of fact, we should get rid of Avatars too. That way nobody can cry and snitch about someone else's Avatar being too sexual, retarded, gay, etc, etc. Generally in life what's offensive to somebody is beautiful to the next therefore the problem never gets solved. I personally never had a problem with anyone's sig or avatar because it was a device for free expression and I understood that, however everyone's expression isn't that same. We all have a common love for football, but some of us also like babes, Movies, Video games, music, etc and the sig/avatar reflected that. With that said, I believe the the best way to ultimately solve this is to get rid of all avatars.
