Default The Tedy Bruschi Story

Just watched his news conference and he starts back with Pats Wed. He says he has clean bill of health from several doctors. Pretty amazing if he can come back and help the team this year. He said he lost most of his vision when he had the stroke and had a hole in his heart.

Something must have happened recently to make him change his mind because just 6 weeks ago he, himself said there was no way he was playing this year.

Quote:
Bruschi emphatically denied that he will return at any point this season to the Patriots, who kick off the defense of their Super Bowl crown Thursday night against the Oakland Raiders at Gillette Stadium.

''I'm telling you right now that's not going to happen," he said. ''I need to do what's best for my family and myself.

''There's a difference between living life normally and being fine and getting ready for a professional football season. I need the year to get myself ready.

''I considered playing this year. We talked about it a lot. But this is something you don't rush. It's not a sprained ankle. This is my medical health, and although I'm feeling great right now, I've also been told by my doctors some time will help. It will help medically, but it will also help me deal with it mentally. I think I've healed faster physically than I have emotionally."

I also saw the conf. He seems inspired to help his team win.

6 weeks ago his team was 0-0. I think the team not playing well has something to do with it. I personally think Teddy will not make any difference for the team. The help they need is in the secondary.

I think it's a mistake

sure the doctors have cleared him

but having a stroke is a sure sign your body is telling you something

I appreciate his love of the game, lord knows we need more players like him in the game today

but yeah

his age, with 3 superbowls and a nice family

I don't see the reason to risk it, at least take a year off

He's already achieved the highest level in the game 3 times...plus...you must also consider in the back of his mind....he knows he can stroke out. But it's a free country....and if he wants to go down in what could be a blaze of glory...then so be it.

I admire his moxy, but he's not in shape to make it back.

Sheesh...take yoiur papers...you have served your sentence...

the guy needs to just write or something...He's a fine man, but it's crazy to go back out, and he is 34. There isn't much more to say...

He's got three rings...

I don't see the point.

In a world full of "me first" players, I'm glad that Bruschi wants to do whatever he can to help his team win. However, I worry that his emotions are ruling his head. Retiring with 3 rings isn't too bad...

someone needs to sit him down and tell him it's over.

Your not going to come back big time!~

It's possible, but about a 5% possibility.

Why on Earth this guy doesn't just chill out and open up a chain of local sports bars I'll never know.....he's a local legend and has the best possible last name for such a venture.
