Default What is wrong with you Coyer?

You almost cost us the game with your horrible play calling in the 3rd and 4th quarter.

Did anyone else want to jump through the tv screen and strangle him?

Hard to gameplan against holding. He called the blitz from Williams that killed the Pats' last drive, remember?

Well, their first TD they got, took a long time and the thinking is that if you force them to take a long drive before they score and use up a lot of clock, its almost the same as a long sustained drive by the offense.

Except the fallacy of this thinking is that they score. The whole point of defense is to not let the other team score I thought.

Yea i know i did, but the players do have to take most of the responsibility. They looked tired and sluggish and gave up until the last drive when they decided to turn it on and stop them. Its a learning experience for sure tho and i bet we wont go conservative like that again.

Yeah I was getting pissed, but I was more pissed at the offense going 3 and out virtually almost every time after the TD in the second half. For christ's sake Shanny don't run the damn offense like your satisfied with the lead you have, go for the jugular. They made no attempt at big plays afterwards and it just killed them and the momentum.

Yep, I noticed that too. You're up 28-6 against NE and they go into a deep sleep.

The playing calling was great the first half, and horrible the second.

Do you people actually watch football....the Pats are a good football team...they will beat you...it's just a matter of when. Brady is no slouch and BB realized he need to keep a man back and Max protect....and Brady can check down...I mean really...easy on the coaches. They do a pretty good job.

But like I said on another thread....we haven't started to play great football yet and we're winning.

The first half we played perfect ball.

Everyone was money.

Rod Smith looked like he was 25.
Ashley had hands,
Plummer showed accuracy.
Tatum had vision.

It was quite a scene. We deserved this win, I would have hated to see the play calling the reason we lost this. But we stepped up when needed, We're 5-1 and I think at the top of our game.

I'm tired of people calling out the play calling when in fact if the players executed there wouldn't be a propblem.

It just seemed like to me that when the score was 28-3, that Denver just figured the game was over and NE wouldn't be able to do much. Then all of a sudden, it's 28-20 and the defense and offense is like, damn, I thought we had this game in the bag. The play calling got pretty conservitive there for a bit, then after NE had the momentum, it didn't really matter much on the defensive adjustments.

The quick slants are killing us. Denver needs to put some people into the throwing lanes for those quick slants. I really thought Denver was just gonna run away with this game and make a statement with it. But the game ended up being close like most people thought it would be.

I think champ was really missed on the second half. We are a differnt defense with him on the field. They completed alot more passes with him gone.

Exactly..the players didn't execute in the second half...give props to the PAts for making a game of it. Dang. And the 1st half was far from perfect...too many penalties to start with......

I think Shanny and co. were so dumbfounded they were blowing New England out, all they could think about was turning the ball over or giving up big plays.

In the end one could make the argument their strategy worked, they forced New England to take a long time to get back in the game whereas if they played very aggresive, they could have gotten back in it quick.

I'm just glad we got the W.

Sorry, The defensive play calling was horrid.

The offense, players didnt execute. Plenty of opportunities for us to end the game but they didnt.

They played a great game though.

I am going to make me a 1,005 (if you go by Yahoo) mile stick so I can poke him to keep him awake during the game. Gramps needs to keep the pressure on. He did let them lose in the 1st half.

Part of it was we were getting no pressure because we were being held left and right.

I couldnt help but think, "if champ was in there, he would of read that 5th slant in a row" It was getting sickening when i was calling the play and the db trailing behind on their ankles. At least we won and are 5-1 with 2 division wins and undefeated at home. Very good start so far, now we must get ready and not go into the mid season slump mode.

I thought the playcalling got real conservative when the score was 28-3. It let the Pats get back in it.

They didnt throw at Champ at all.

Did anyone else notice that awesome play where he contained Dwight on the end around? Beautiful stuff there. Dwight had a full set of steam and the Champ anticipated his every step.

I still think it's a nice game. Defenses are not expected to stop every friggin drive of the opponents offense, they give a touchdown or so every other time. It's the big play ability that has enabled the pats to win all these years and I am finding that in broncos games now. it's not ok to blow a lead by 17 points as today but if the offense had moved the chains a couple of times, the defense wouldn't have felt pressure at all. Still nicely executed at the end to finish off the game
