Default Plummer Vs. Parker

Anyone see this? Guess Plummer got into it with the local gossip columnist and now she's calling for backup.

http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drm...160626,00.html

Parker: Reaction goes out of bounds

I got blindsided by the quarterback.

Broncos QB Jake Plummer called me on my cell phone Thursday night, and in a profanity-laced tirade, shredded me and Broncos fans like a worn-out jersey.

His beef? My Thursday column about Kollette Klassen, a second-year Broncos cheerleader whom he introduced at a party for his foundation - attended by hundreds Monday night - as "my lovely girlfriend."

He had a fit because a morning radio show picked up the column item and accused Klassen of being a "jersey chaser."

Sorry, but I never said anything derogatory about her nor did I accuse her of "jersey chasing," a term I was not familiar with.

Plummer, in his "expletives undeleted" attack, later broadened his accusations to Broncos fans.

"You think Denver has the greatest fans?" he spit at me. "Well, they aren't."

His fear: Fans would somehow single out Klassen at games and give her a hard time.

Puh-leeze.

Yes, Broncos fans (and I count myself among them) can be a rowdy bunch, especially when the Raiders come to town. But I've never witnessed, nor have I ever heard, of anyone being nasty to a cheerleader.

Colorado Avalanche winger Dan Hinote (Plummer, when I asked him, said he had never heard of him) dated Broncos cheerleader Renee Herlocker for a time. After I wrote about the couple, I didn't get any reports of harassment toward her. Or calls from Hinote.

Jake could take a lesson from former Broncos great John Elway, the most famous person in Colorado. Elway has had to live out his career and personal life in the press, and while he's had his fits of pique, he's dealt with it for the most part with grace and dignity.

This reads like a revenge piece. There are so many unecessary things that smell of "Hey all you fans! Hate Jake Plummer! He doesn't know the Avalanche players! He said the fans suck!" Whatever he said, sure pissed her off.

He probably called her the C word and she snapped. From the looks of things that's a pretty accurate description.

hmmm, yes but Elway was a HOF and Jake is not. i can understand Jake's concern here as when Jake plays badly the fans get on his case and i can see where they might poke fun at him through her. this Parker chick needs to get a friggin clue. i also disagree with her, she didnt get blindsided by a Qb but rather a Mack Truck.

If I'm Jake Plummer right now I think I'd errupt into the same profanity laced tirade. Screw this writer chic. I don't care if Jake Plummer knows who the mayor of Denver is or not! I can see why he says that he doesn't think Broncos fans are the best in the world. They've been on his ass quite a bit. He's entitled to his opinions and I won't get my feelings hurt. He's not talking about me anyway...he's talking about TACO!!! rofl

Jake should be sending me a thank you card for allowing his woman to stay in the "free and single" pool. Kollette and I go way back!

Oh, and screw that Hinote dude for stealing Renee from me. We could of had something special!

Yeah, jealous aren't you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trent Green's never done anything like that. He defused the Todd Collins situation in preseason.

This is worse than the finger incident, IMO. I don't know how you guys can defend your QB after he bashed the fan base.

Because it could well be a lie. What credibility does this reporter have? It's highly unprofessional to go after an athlete in the press over a personal matter, regardless of what was said or wasn't said.

Did you see Trent calling out the fans? No.

Your QB is getting to be pathetic on AND off the field.
