What is your opinion of the 2 TE set Kubes has been running this year?
I don't like it, we don’t have a big enough line & good enough blocking TE's to knock guys off the ball in run game. TE's have not seemed to be able to get open much at all this year & having them chip someone at the line seems odd to me if they are trying to run a route & get open. It does not appear that Kubes is using this formation as a Max Protect type of formation. I am looking for your OPINION here, not posts like "you’re dumb, you don't know anything about football or my favorite: Have you not watched any Bronco football in the last few years". Has it been effective for both run & pass game in YOUR OPINION, should it stay or should it go? Do YOU see any redeeming qualities of this formation or is it too early to tell as Brewster is only in his 6th game with the TE's. Personally I like when Kubes/shanny run the 4 wide flex formation bringing KJ in to weak or strong I formation from the slot or wide position. We run VERY effectively when there is motion off the I formation & Rod is usually open when placed in the slot. i am craving some X's & O info people. |

I dont like it when we bring Carswell in as a 3rd tackle. Big fella needs to be put at FB, get some speed, and knock the hell out of the lb in the hole. But thats me.

I love the 2 TE formation , alot of the 2 TE formation is simular to the K gun offense ..... Granted the 2 TE formation only works if you have the right kind of Players , but I think KC should run more of the 2 TE formation ......

rofl I like the 2 TE but i think a better option would be to put Alexander in to block and spread out Putz. Putz can then either run a route or come down for a crack block on a LB. Thats just me tho. I also hope to see Nate stop getting hurt and get onto the FREAKIn Field!!!! Stop wasting a spot and get healthy already, jeeez |

What I don't like is that we run too many plays with the empty backfield. It's ok in small doses only.

I agree, I don't like the 2 TE set either. However, Anderson's strength is running between the tackles and this gives us an addition blocker on the line. I also think we are seeing more of this because we have had the lead throughout the past three weeks and this is a ball control formation to keep the opposition's offense off the field. It's just too bad we've had so many three-and-outs.
The play I really like with 2 TEs is the naked bootleg where the TE runs an out to the side where Plummer is running. This has always been effective; it keeps the defense concentrated in the middle of the field and honest playing the run. All that said, Shanahan is an offensive guru and knows what he's doing. Plus, we are running the ball well this year. |

I did have one of Wilson just blowing up Heap in the endzone , on one of the hardest hits I have ever seen .......... One other one I want is Mecklinburg blowing up Marcus Allen when Allen was a Raider ....... Dump off pass in the flat , Allen never saw the Albino Rhino comming .... it was a collision and a half , Allen went airborne , then got up and walked 7 yards to get his helmet ........ |

Prior to the regular season, I was certain the two TE set would become a bread & butter offesnive set, if only because...as I thought then...the O-line would need the help to get the running game going..
It hasn't been...not yet anyway. I know that Shanahan wants more use of the two TE set, and judging by his comments on more than one occassion in training camp & the pre-season, he felt it might be essential, but events have unfolded slightly differently than he expected. Charlie Adams, for one, has proven so far to really BE that 3rd WR Denver has lacked for so long. Second, the RB by committee has actually worked, so there is less dependence on the passing game. Finally, as many have said here...if it aint broke, don't fix it, a philosophy the coaches seem to've embraced. 'Keep doing what you're doing until somebody figures out how to stop it'...it may have a Dan Reeves ring to it, but it has served the Patriots well the last few years. |

The TEs pass catching production has been my biggest disappoint this season, I'm all for it if causes more miss matches in passing game. Hopefully Nate can produce when he gets back.
