Default Direct TV?

Anyone have any suggestions or feedback about Sunday Ticket (DirectTV) and if they show all Broncs games? The good, bad, ugly? Is it worth it or are there continued tech probs/black outs? I've heard good and bad.

As much as I love yall and the Sunday chat room, I'd like to actually watch more than one game on the tube this year. Last week, our local programming chose to show the Mountain Bike Championships instead of and NFL game so I've had my fill- I just can't take it anymore!!!

They show every game, of every team, every Sunday. Most of them in HD.

I always tell my son that "Sunday Ticket" is Latin for "gift from God."

As long as you're not in an NFL market that doesn't sell out, you'll get every game. I have gotten it every year since it started. And while I hate forking out the money every year, I'm with Slap. I wouldn't consider going without it. In fact, I would pay more, if I had to.

I have the Sunday ticket and I love it. It's all about the money. Some people think it's expensive. I guess it depends on your descretionary income.

Baseball hasn't quite fallen off my radar, but it is getting close. In my mind, just as the NFL makes all the right moves, MLB makes all the wrong ones. It's almost become like a keystone cops routine. Just a few things that come to mind: canceling the World Series, an all-star game that ends in a tie, steroids, beyond-ridiculous salaries, embarrassing testimonies before congress...

But all of that, I could live with. The thing that kills me is the salary disparity. Unless they get that fixed, I will watch, but only from a distance. I just can't stand watching a league where going into the season, two-thirds of the teams need a miracle to even get a sniff of the post-season.

It's sad, because I used to love it. But now, it is fourth in my book, after football, hockey, and basketball.

Yeah......why don't we let that erection settle down before we make any concrete plans?

Default Sunday Ticket has two plans

There are two plans for Sunday ticket. One shows all the games. The other gives you all the games plus two extra channels that show 8 games on one channel for an additional $99. The "super' package or whatever the hell they call it just started this year and is a waste of $$.

The only times I've had trouble with blackouts is during heavy rain or snow, but you shouldn't have that problem.

Good luck.

P.S. Direct TV will automatically start billing you for next years package in July '06. If you don't like it, make sure to contact them before then.

I love it... its a moral imperative, and I would be stuck watching Chargers games otherwise. Any questions?

By the way, anyone want to know a dirty little Pezzy Directv secret?

Ah screw it, I'll tell ya anyway...

If you see a program, say for example HBO's Rome tv show, that you want to see, but dont want to pay for the entire month of HBO, well then you can actually order ONLINE only, the HBO service, right before your show and then cancel your service within 24 hours and you will only be charged a minor amount (usually .50 cents) for the time you watched the channel.

But remember, it only works online, and not on pay-per-view stuff

The only thing I hate when it happens is when the games overlap, causing the viewer to miss some minutes at the begining of second game.

If the game you want to see on Sunday ticket is offered on any local channel, it is blacked out on Sunday ticket.

Well, I get three CBS chanels on cable. Usually the Broncos get on. With a dish, unless I get the game package, CBS will not give me a feed...(not that missing the HornHead games wouldn't be a blessing)

there is tons of football on anyway. Last week was very lame however. Pitt game was pretty good.

odd....if the 1:00 game is running over, it always goes over to the 4:00 game for me right before kickoff.

300 bucks for sunday ticket plus HD super-b**** service.... but its worth it.

The other thing that sucks is that they black out the games that are broadcast locally... so I had to put a godamn off-air antenna on my house. My HD reciever incorporates the antenna signals just like they were satellite channels, but it was a GIANT pain in the ass.... but I can't stand to watch a game in regular format.

You have to get SuperFan if you want the HD games. If someone has shelled out the bucks for an HDTV it is easy to pay another $99 for SuperFan. It does give you some other features:

GameMix shows 8 games on one screen and you can move between them if you have the right receiver.

ShortCuts shows the entire game in less than 30 minutes (they broadcast the plays minus the huddles, commercials, refs under the hood, etc.) They normally broadcast this later in the week.
