Default Post your Analysis/predictions for week 6 here.

The big chess piece missing in this New England Defense is not Harrison, or Poole or any of their secondary which they've done without before: its dominating defensive end Richard Seymour. Seymour is a monster against the run, but without him Denver can concentrate on blitzing linebackers and not double team his pressence in the passrush.

New Englands defense might try to coverup the lack of his pressence with wave after wave of blitz packages but, those will only last for a quarter.

If Plummer faces pressure well and hits his check downs, denvers runningbacks will overcome the new england linebackers who have exhibited inconsistent play so far this season.

linebacker Roosevelt Colvin has not been performing well lately and he must keep contain this game, if jake gets to the outside, Denver will put up similar numbers to what Atlanta did on offense.

Schemes:

Shanahan vs. Belicheck will be a wash in schemes, both coaches will have the first quarters of the game scripted to perfection. Denver's talent does overmatch New England's banged up team later during the game, but jake must make sure he does not make any mistakes throughout the game, otherwise Brady will take advantage of every possesion.

Projected offensive standouts.

Rod Smith 100+ yards receiving

Tatum Bell 16 carries for 110 yards

Brady 300+ yards passing, 1 TD, 1 INT 30/47 attempts

Adam Vitaneri 4/4 fg

Jason Elam 3/4 fg

Defensive Standouts

Eugene Wilson: 11 tackles, 2 PD

Vince Wilfork: 1 sack, 3 tackles, 2 hurries

Nick Ferguson: 1 INT, 3 tackles, 1 PD

Champ Bailey: 3 PD, 6 tackles

Key matchups:

Ian Gold & DJ Williams vs. Ben Watson

Eugene Wilson vs. Lelie & Smith

Roosevelt Colvin vs. Plummer roll out

Vince Wilfork vs. Tom Nalen

Belicheck has a problem going into game planning this game. He could spread the offense and have Brady pick it apart, or he could keep everyone in and max protect like the Redskins did with incredible success. Although i would look for Denver to focus on breaking the max protect after what happened last week, it is likely Belicheck will fake max protect and send the tightends deep this game, watch for Ben Watson, his play is key vs. Athletic linebackers DJ and Ian.

Final Thoughts

If there is a mind that can counter the defensive schemes of Belicheck, its the offensive mind of Shanahan. Plummer must execute the Denver offense as he has so far this season for Denver to come out ontop. As long as Denver keeps their turnover free streak, they should over power the patriots on this one.

Brady will have a big game, but fail to get into the endzone. Denver might falter a few times by scheme on defense, but overpower the patriots as the field gets shorter since New Englands running game will likely be nuetralized this game.

New England 19 vs. Denver 27

BUT thats just my take, I wanna know what everyone else predicts!

I think the Pats will get their points one way or another, but if they're unable to run at all then the offense may be stymied(like against SD).

I'm more worried about stopping the likes of Lelie & Co.

Confidence is low, but I gotta pick my team.....

Right now, I just want to see Bell get about 15 carries, Lelie to catch more than 2 balls, and just have the entire offense come together. Oh yeah, and have the Broncos win by 10 or more points.

On defense, I'd like to see Pryce get his first two sacks this Sunday, I'd like to see Bailey come back and play with no setbacks, and I'd like to see Williams take a punt return to the house.

There, I don't think I'm asking for too much.

We have a lot to prove and this will be our statement game. We will stop the run and interceptions will be the key to this game for us. I will say 30-20 with our defense scoring a touchdown for us.

Wow alot of folks looking for us to get TO's from the Pats and some scores on either defense of special teams. Thats a pretty tall order when playing the Pats they are well coached and dont make alot of errors. I would say the key is to play mistake free on our end. We cant give them TO's and short fields. If we just play mistake free football we win this game going away

A repeat of '00 and '03, New England will purposely take a safety.

This time, it will bite them in the ass as Williams takes the kickoffpunt back for a TD.

Hammer them in the middle on offense with Anderson and Dayne...that's where they are weakest right now.

I hope not, i dont like injuries, but him being out will help our chances greatly.

I like Lelie to get his first 100 yard game with 6 or 7 catches. Going deep is this teams weakness, and i think we should try and take advantage of that.

Sorry Patsie, but an opposing fan is an opposing fan so here it goes...

You ****ing moron. What ****ing makes you think the Patsies can generate 29 points against this D playing as good as it has been? Of course, you are from Boston so that should explain you halfwitted ignoramus.

Denver is going to smother Brady who, as Miami showed last year, folds like an old dollar bill in a Thai hooker's g-string when he gets pressured. He reminds me much of that panty waste Manning who just cannot handle a little hard hitting.

Dillon will get shut down and no one on your receiving corps is capable enough to surpass the Denver secondary. Dump offs? You wont have time to get dump offs. Get real. 29 ****ing points? What are you smoking a-hole.

Besides which, how are they gonna score 29 points hwne they have the ball for 18 minutes of the game? Denver is going to eat up that depleted "_efense" and chew up the clock and keep Brady away from playing.

Silly man. You should have known better.

Very simple; Run it at them until they can prove they can stop it. If they can't stop it, well, there you go. Keep Brady on the bench. This week, the O gets to punch them in the mouth. Plus: It's about time DWill ran one back without getting robbed by some dip****, anal retentive, scum sucking ref.
