It will be a fun game to watch. I like Omar as a passer, but being picky he doesn't seem to handle the ball very well when I have seen him which makes me question how fast he can adapt to the Pro game. I think I heard or read that he is a very bright and coachable guy though. What is your take on that?

As far as handling the ball well, he threw 41 TD's to 4 INT's last year, so he must make some pretty good decisions with the ball out there, even if it is the MAC, i'll take those kind of numbers. He is a good passer, has a quick release, and doesnt get the case of happy feet as often as say Vince Young or Reggie McNeal would, he's a pass first kind of scrambling QB which makes me like him more. Personally, he's the best in the country at QB, and I know that there's a certain QB in sourthern Cal that I am putting Omar over, he's just bright back there and knows what to do with the ball. |

It's touhg to win that game when his D didnt show up at all, BGSU overall is a bad team that Omar makes look good, or at least better. |

I've watched Omar 4 times now. I was impressed last year when I watched him play vs Memphis and he looked good... the other 3 times I was not impressed. He doesn't use his height to his advantage when throwing the ball. He tries to run like Vince Young...though he's NOT Vince Young! This year he's finally playing against a couple good defenses and he's not doing quite as well and each game he is "figured out" a little more. No way Boise St should have kept him so quiet! I'm starting to think he's a product of the system.
This is going to draw a little more attention than I'd probably like... but I'm waffling a little on Matt Leinart. I've been against him from the beginning but I'm slowly but surely becoming a believer. Kind of sucks b/c I'm not a big SoCal fan by any means. Hard to argue with guys like Norm Chow (who last year said he was the best he's seen) and Pete who says the same about Matt. Carson Palmer didn't find is "niche" until his senior year and I had my doubts about him, but he's got the goods and is proving it! Leinart has proven that he belongs since his first snap on the football field at USC. He's going to be better than Palmer... we could do a lot worse. So, put me in the Leinart fan club. I'll be a HAPPY Camper if the Broncos make the move to get him! |

Leinhart is good but his release looks slow and I think his arm strength isn't that strong. Who Denver could really use is Bush. That would be a great addition.

Bush would be great, White would be great, Steve Smith would be great, Bing would be great, Leinart would be crap.

Who's more athletic... Carson Palmer or Matt Leinart
![]() I think both are a little more athletic than people give them credit for... they just happen to be in a system that allows for them to be pocket passers. Another thing that I like about Leinart is his brain game. He's a tireless worker in the film room and is as prepared on game day as say a Peyton Manning. Whether he can move out of the pocket and throw on the run is yet to be determined but we all would like to see Jake be a little more accurate when asked to stand in the pocket. |
