Default Darrent Williams VS. Dante Hall

I think this will be a great matchup. I think with Denver's improved punting this could be very interesting on which guy has the better game.

Any ideas?? I have none, I know this could be the matchup that decides the game though.

It shouldn't be much a contest. Dante probably has a killword for his flawed clone.

We'll see. They are identical in looks that's for sure. Of course Hall is an old man and well Williams is a young buck ready to strut his stuff in Primetime. I think this is going to be a very entertaing subplot of the game.

Darrent Williams has more to offer than Dante. I'm not just talking about Punt and Kick Returning. They play different positions, but Darrent has show his talent at cornerback. Dante Hall on the other hand is non existant at WR.

While Darrent at this point is just a very pale shadow at punt and kick returning compared to Dante.

This is so true. It also appears that Darrent Williams is way more physical than Dante Hall.

Thats what 3 very visable block in the backs will get you.

Actually he's out-returned Dante this season, if I'm not mistaken.

For pure elusiveness and a great stop and go move, Dante is still the best in the NFL...unfortunately, that style lends itself to alot of holding and illegal blocks in the back penalties, at least RECENTLY when some refs remembered to put in their contacts.

D-Will looks more like more of a cut and go returner, which can also be effective, but I think the fact Dante is a WR and DW a CB has some play in the different styles. I think DW is concentrating hardest right now at CB, and has been surprisingly solid...very surprising and solid tackler for his size. I'm more than happy to have him concentrating hardest on corner and let the return game come to him over a little time.

Denver also hasn't had very good blocking on returns at all. Not as much holding ect as KC, but just don't excell at it...or coverage.

True. Kick returns were never his forte' whereas they are Dante's speciality. Corner punt returner Vs. Wideout Kickoff returner...Maybe we're actually comparing oranges to apples here on second thought...

He isn't really a kickoff returner so he'll have to get some reps before he is totally comfortable doing them.

According to bob their punter has some super power and can control the ball with his mind to determine how it lands.

Proof Caught on camera during the raiders game controlling a punt.

I doubt seriously that Williams will own the Chiefs like Dante has owned the Donks.

Dante Hall has almost singlehandedly whipped the Donks every time they play.

With the exception of the game @KC in 2003 (3 illegal blocks in the back) and last year @KC...I don't think Dante has done all that much against us.

I will only will say this once! Punter better show some directional punting, and keep the ball away from Hall. Our I will call for his head, and ask to bring Ernster back

Sorry, but this statement is absurd. What the hell has Darrent Williams done in the NFL to prove he's more talented? He's played in two freaking games! Maybe somewhere down the road, he'll be a better CB than Dante is a WR, but as of right now you're imagining things.

As for Dante being non existant as a WR.... Did the 125 yards receiving he had against Denver in that '03 game not exist either? Dante Hall has done more against Denver in one game than Williams will do against KC in his entire short career.

As for running kicks back, I don't expect Hall to have the success he's had in past years. We don't have the wedge that we once had, and Vermeil has gotten really conservative with what Hall is allowed to return. He's still shifty as hell, but if guys aren'tt opening holes, it doesn't matter.

It's his skill as a kick and punt returner I respect, with it he can change the momentum of a game.

He isnt entirely wrong , while most and amped over the Punt return Williams had , Me i was amped over Williams Jumping a Route on a expierenced Reciever . damn near getting the rock , say what you will but for a rook that shows great anticipation , he was aware of where he was on the field , and he understood his coverage ......
It wasnt luck , it was a good pass from Brees , if it had been an errent pass , over thrown ball , then I wouldnt be as excited about Williams ........

I wonder...

Was the ref that should have seen the block in the back, paying to much attention to the kicking unit? Maybe he was making sure that KC's kicker didn't come out on the field..cause you know thats a priority. Illegal blocks in the back...bah.....but teammates getting ready for the next....thats just insane.

Back to the topic..

I love what Darrent Williams can do, but Dante Hall is a proven commodity at KR/PR. I'd give Williams the edge on what he can do defensively vs what Dante can do offensively.
