15 Solo tackles (1st amongst rookies)
1 FF
1 FR

DJ Williams:

As much as SoCal and Slappy hate it, Gold is outplaying D.J. so far. But to be fair, I know DJ is livid about being moved to Sam. He's being the good soldier so far, but it was a move that might ensure that he bolts when he can. He will grow into the position, give him time.

I didn't forget that. I posted those stats in a thread on Chiefsplanet, but did not feel they were relevant to this discussion. They still aren't, but here they are.

Through 2 games in 2004:
DJ Williams

11 Tackles (8 Solo)
1 Sack
1 Pass deflected
No FF/FR

Was not aware of the move. I still figured he played the will. Why would they put Ian Gold there?

Ian can barely cover Quentin Griffin, what makes you think he could cover a TE?

don't ask me, it's 50/50 on Ian around here

I still say bringing him back was a mistake, sure Ian looks good now, but by week 10 his 200 lb frame starts wearing down

and like Alec said, Ian can't cover a TE

Oh, give me a friggin' break! Even someone of your questionable intelligence must realize that you can't really make an accurate comparison based on only 2 games... I would say you can't make an accuralte comparison based on only one season either. It's the career that matters... does the player continue to improve?

Just throwing stuff out there...I think you overstate how seriously he is taking it.

Just food for thought ya know?

There isn't a poster here with even subhuman intelligence that wouldn't of loved to get Derrick Johnson you fool. He fell right in your lap. It wasn't some genius draft day move, it was the fact the Chefs SUCKED AND WENT 7-9. Then, clowns like "pac-man" Jones were taken in front of you. Honestly, I'm surprised King Carl didn't pass on him. On draft day, when Johnson dropped much, much further than he should of, I was starting to scream for a big move up...but we had allready lost our #1 pick for next year with Washington, and I don't think he was worth trading both #1's. I imagine that there was some frantic phone calling, but even King Carl wasn't stupid to pass on such a gift.

So don't act like it was some act of genius to get Johnson, he fell right into your laps. It's like bragging you get a short bus because your "special". Sheesh.

If the slots were reversed, I'd think Den would take one of the dlineman rather than Johnson, and the chefs first guy was reported at teh time to be Davis, but he went one pick earlier. As to why playing out of position is an issue, I don't think Johnson can play mike and will, while DJ maybe can. Gold sucks. We coulda had a guard and kept Spragan for the price.

I like Gold... but Spragan was playing well.... and i definitely thought we should of attacked Demulling more than we did.

Altho the move to bring in Gold was rather odd, considering the price and the need to move Williams, he's played well from all accounts and has made plays. I saw him in week one, and he doesn't look like a safety anymore. He doesn't exactly look like a LB, but he's filled out some. He had several big plays yesterday. He just has some detractors. Namely, Slappy, who is still waiting for Pierce to "break out"...is he even on the team?...and SoCal the Miami homer who's nose is so far up D.J. Williams butt crack he can't see the light of day.

Next.

Actually, why not compare our DJ to your Kendrall Bell since they are playing the same position this year.

Chiefs fans... They want to compare linebackers based on their names, rather than the positions that they actually play.

Surface level football knowledge. Gotta love it!
