Default What is your take on China Brown?

I thought he had a great game, Sack & some good pressure. Engelburger had some good pressure & stuffed LT at least once. Dline over all played well when gloves came off in 2nd half. What is Mane take on Brown though?

I'll have to watch the Tivo again, but Brown sure looked unblockable on that sack he had. I'm not sure how many reps he saw today. I love the idea of keeping him fresh, and rotating him in there until he's totally healed. (If that ever actually happens for him.)

its only his first game and he will get better as the season goes on, i think the defensive line did well and should continue to get better!

It's all about the health, if Brown is healthy he is easily the best Lineman out there. He and Warren basically took over the LOS in the second half.

I actually would just keep rotating him in there. Who knows when he'll break again. On the other side, I noticed that John Engleberger's name hasn't been called very much.

Engleburger has disapeared since the preseason... only 2nd game of the season but still. Pryce came alive in the 2nd half. Most of the plays he made though were against the run game.

He stuck LT for a nice loss in the second half

Engelberger is a try-hard guy, and you gotta love his effort. But he's pretty small and a real liability against the run. He's probably effective in a very situational role. (3rd and long, etc.)

It looked like he was getting by his man on a consistent basis even in the first half.

He did actually have a nice play on LT. But if you watch him on repeated downs, he gets pushed around a lot. He'll shoot the gap once in a while and get into the backfield, which is great. I'm just not a fan of seeing him in there on first and ten situations.

I agree with that, an excellent rotation guy though. He disrupts enough that he still needs to be accounted for.

Brown was a very nice suprise for his first game back, especially considering he dislocated the elbow a few weeks ago. That defensive effort in the 2nd half was the best I've seen in Denver in a long time. They just stuffed 'em cold...no "bend but don't break"...no timely turnover that saved an otherwise shaky defense. They just flat out mauled them.

I will take whatever Brown can give us before he gets hurt again. Shanny cannot get greedy and increase his reps. 10-15 plays a game and hold your breath.

Keep in mind that Courtney was playing his first real game in almost a year! Give him a game or two to gel with the line. He was great nonetheless and should inspire Trevor to pick it up a notch as well.
