Default RB question...

Not very often you have this type of problem... if you can even call it that. But I have 4 stud RB's and need to make a decision for this weekend.

Willis McGahee @ Tampa
Kevin Jones @ Chicago
Willie Parker @ Houston
Larry Johnson @ Oakland

I think Willie Parker is an auto start... Houston didn't do too well vs a poor passing attack and the Bills Sunday.

Tampa really shut down the Vikes run game... but how can I not start my #1 pick?

Clinton Portis found success running the ball vs the Bears. Kevin Jones is coming off of a sub-par performance vs the Packers. I assumed he'd take a few games to get started anyway.

Larry Johnson is playing the Faid. Willie Roaf is out. The Faid's run D actually looked pretty good vs Dillon and the Patsies.

So, Unless I want to start three WR's (I DON'T! Mine are subpar!) I need to pick three of those four. Any suggestions and why please.

I'd go Johnson and Parker. You watch any of the Chief game? Man, he's hitting it right now. Going to be tough to keep him off the field. He has the break-away speed that Priest don't have.

I think Mcgahee and Jones struggle this week.

Priest has definitely lost a step. You can see it with every run. I hope the Chorfs coaches start to make the ratio of carries more in Larry's favor.

So then the question becomes Jones or McGahee... I need three of the four!

Tough call man. I'm sitting Lewis again this week and going with Dunn and Barber. They both produced better than Lewis last week.

Nice set of RB's.

I'm in a 12 man league and was able to get a top 4 of McGahee, K. Jones, J. Lewis, and Bettis myself.

Its a nice luxury to have, but can cause some dilemmas when coming to picking starters.

I would do McGahee and Parker myself.

Parker is probably the easiest to sit for some people, but i think he'll have another 100 + TD.

You took McGahee with your 1st pick for a reason. Start him with confidence.

Parker is gonna shred the Texans and for your 3rd choice go with LJ. I don't see much offense in the Det v Chi game, so leave Jones on the bench

Big Ben might not play against the Texans, which could cut either way so far as Parker is concerned.

Kevin Jones @ Chicago
Willie Parker @ Houston
Larry Johnson @ Oakland

Only because McGahee has a tough matchup.

The first three.

McGahee will get at least 80 yards and a TD. Kevin Jones is a bit overrated but will put up decent numbers. Parker is playing a weak Houston team that gave up a chunk of yards last week and Big Ben is injured. I wouldn't start LJ because Roaf is out, Raiders rush D looked impressive, and because he only had 9 rushes last week and you can't expect him to perform like that with 9 rushes every week.

Why I'm giving you advice I have no freaking idea.

I'd go with the #1 RB's on their respective teams. There is no guarantee who is going to be the top 3 highest scorers of the 4 but there is one guarantee. Jones, McGahee, and Parker will all start and get the bulk of the teams carries. That's the best answer and reasoning behind my answer that I can give. More carries=more chances= probably more points.

Now, i need a question answered with a RB situation. I start 2 RB's and I'm having trouble deciding which 2 of these guys to start out of 3 RB's:

Rudi Johnson vs Minny (probably a lock)
Julius Jones vs Wash
Lamont Jordan vs KC

All 3 RB's will be home this weekend. Rudi is a definate. He has a very favorable matchup against Minny. Rudi is becoming one of the biggest workhorses in the league at RB. I swear, they could give that guy the ball 50 times a game and he would'nt get tired.
Julius has the worst matchup of the 3. Lamont goes against a weak KC D (one game against the Jets doesn't make them the Steel Curtain). I'm just afraid that that the KC/Oak game reverts back to the old AFL aerial assault by both teams.

I currently have Jones and Johnson in my starting lineup. I think Jones is the "safer" pick but Jordan is whispering in my ear as we speak.
BTW, we get bonus points for carries.
Any thoughts?

Actually, there is one scenerio that would make me put LJ in......

I'm assuming that the third RB is a "flex" player. If the guy you are playing against has a WR as hi flex player, I'd consider benching Kevin Jones and putting LJ in. LJ has a good chance to outscore a third WR as a Flex player assuming the guy doesn't have Harrison, Moss, and TO. That's the only scenerio that I would consider LJ over KJ.

Sorry bro, you could have called. If you're worried about mamma and baby just call me on my cell. I appreciate the courtesy though.

As for your RB answer and question. I think I'm leaning in that direction as well. I'd like to keep Larry Johnson in the line-up but like you said, he'll get less opportunity and Oakland's offense has the ability to explode and force the Chefs into a pass only mode.

On your side I start Julius Jones. Parcells is committed to getting him 25 carries and another 3-5 passes per game. He's said this week that he plans on resting him a bit with the A-Train, but he'll still get a good amount of carries. Also consider that Dallas has been playing Washington pretty well since Parcells arrival.

Give me a shout sometime today!
