Saw him at a bar near campus, went and said what's up to him. Ended up buying him a shot of Jager and talking with him a little.
Very cool, down to earth guy. |

What did he say? Was his drinking induced by the game? Did a bunch of CSU homers run up to him and say "OMG U R teh 1337 H@X0r QB!!!! P1UMm3r 1s teh $uX0r!!!!!!!!"

You should have asked him why he wasn't in the game on Sunday.

I actually got to drink with him after a pre-season game last year, he was walking around the tailgates in the lot, there were only a few gaters left and they were handing out beers to a small group of us, he was really down to Earth, but he did not instill much confidence in me though when someone asked if he hoped that Jake would get hurt so he could play and he said "no way it would be cool to play but I hope he doesn't get hurt cause I have no idea what's going on, but coach said if I just keep showing up and practicing that they would keep me as long as I want, but I want to start someday." I guess that it is good he isn't real cocky and he knew his place but the way he said it really made me feel that he had no confidence at all, he said that Sonny and Shanny are night and day as coaches go. I asked him if the Giants showed any intreast in him since his old man played there and he said that there were some talks but he was really pleased to stay in CO. He was alot cooler than I remembered him in college zooming around campus knocking people over on his skateboard.

I am glad RhymesayersDU and anthonypacino got to spend some time with Bradlee Van Pelt.
However, it would be nice to hear a story from another Bronco fan who met Van Pelt and was not boozing with him. |

You should talk to some of the guys from the clubs in the 60s. They stayed drunk all the time.

Why would any Broncos be out in public (after Sunday) drinking? Soon as Shanahan sees this he'll probably fine BVP and put him on the practice squad.

In all honesty, I wonder how many more of those games Plummer gets before the fans start pushing for him. Been a while since Denver had a backup QB that makes Denver fans excited. No offense to Danny Kannel. |

If I had a nickle for every time I dropped by one of my guest houses in Denver just to find Bradlee face down on the living room floor, empty bottles of liqour and a half-eaten bag of Doritos by his side, I'd have at least 85 cents.
At least. |

some fans already ARE calling for vanpelt. their morons of course, but its happening. i walked into work yesterday to a guy saying "why doesnt vanpelt play?" i looked at him and said "because we dont want to lose 34-10 EVERY game." end of conversation. plummer deserves criticism for sunday just like everyone else. no more, and no less. to single him out is just senseless. EVERYONE was bad. all we can do is hope that collapse early on is what theyll need to catipult them through the season. better to melt down in week one than in the second half of the season like we've been doing. jake is our qb, and he will be just fine. we'll beat san diego soundly and then all will be back in order. then we have the chiefs the following week. win that game (which should be a dogfight) and we're in first place with tiebreakers. it was one game people. one very BAD game, but still just one game. jake |

Cause none of them probably carry enough liquor at home to get over that beating. |

does vanpelt do ANYTHING besides drink when he's not on a football field?
just curious since literally EVERY SINGLE story i hear about him includes alcohol. quite honestly, it sounds like the young man has a problem. |

He is still very young and still living the college lifestyle. Not that uncommon. If he is still doing it into his 30's and 40's then we might have a problem but the kid is probably just enjoying life like most young men with a little money and a little fame would do. |

ah geez Jake. Come on now. Where else are people from the Mane going to see players. It's usually at a bar or near the tailgate lot. Where do you think Broncos fan use to run into Elway? Out in public. Usually a bar. This thread needs to go in the butt before it turns into trash smearing BVPs name if it already hasn't become that. Last edited by Meck77; 09-13-2005 at 07:42 AM.. |

good lord...if guess some of you have never heard the stories about Elway.
I've heard that Elway has an unlimited "get out of jail for free" pass when he's in Denver. |
