So, if Champ is hurt and has to miss time, who do we bring back? Why not bring Middlebrooks in as a band-aid?
I just can't see going into a game, knowing that we have to rely strictly on the young guys for coverage. That was a sick feeling, watching Sam Brandon line up 25 yards off the line as a cornerback. Miami should have been running ten yard hooks and outs. They would have moved the chains every time. |

Let's face it, Middlebust sucks. He couldn't crack the 49ers lineup and they didn't even seem to care that that they had recently traded for him when they cut him. That's how much they thought of Willie. The Broncos were going to cut him themselves before the 49ers came calling. That's how much they thought of him.
I'd rather give Paymah (who was inactive today because no one could have anticipated losing all three of our top corners at the same time) a shot, at least there's some potential upside there. Willie's only potential is landing back on IR, his home away from home. |

Why do you put a CB inactive especially in a game where the team likes to pass and where its gonna be hot and humid. I know its easy to critisize after the point, but I didn't watch the game and I'm only hearing all this second hand. BUT isn't usually the inactive guys a WR or like the waterboy 3rd string QB or OL?

I hate to already be in a "sacrifice the season" mode after 1 week, but don't bring anybody in. You let those rookies go at it, and see what they got right off the bat. Win or lose, see if they can play and if they continue to improve as the games go on.
I'm not trying to say that season is lost or anything, because it's only been a week. But we might as well turn these guys loose and see what we have. Bringing in somebody who isn't on a team now is just a waste of time, IMO. |

it's not good for the team, not good for the kids. i don't wanna see some d-backs off the street roaming around either. if we can't bring in a veteran corner, i hope we can keep the young'ens healthy enough--i.e. the end of darrent returning kicks. |

I would like to see Roc in there. I like him, according to our camp inseiders he looked preety good in practice and was often scolded for being too physical, which wouldnt of hurt us this game. The off coverage was just pissing me off, they didnt pass the ball for 10 yards barely ever, only little 2 yard outs that gained 10. I was going outta control at the bar. I dont know why Shanny deactivated Paymah or Dayne, im still perplexed at why that happens when u can field 53 guys, field them all, they dont gotta play, their backups, and in the case today, we needed all the reseves we could get. ![]() |

There is a big difference between having to put a band-aid on the problem for a few weeks, and putting him on IR and facing the season without him. |

Now, I'm not sure if that was speculation by those reporting, or what... just what I read on here. |
