Does anyone know how to find out who the commentators are for the game Sunday? It isn't exactly a high-profile matchup, so I am guessing it is going to be someone that sucks.

Speaking of commentators, is anyone else just getting tired of John Madden? Last night, he got on my nerves as only a few other guys can. At least he wasn't Joe Theisman, though - they'd never put that blowhard on MNF!

I'm guessing that it will be their local guys that I will have to listen to all game on the ticket. It's gonna get old hearing them b****ing while Denver is laying the wood to the phins.

Since Dick Enberg is covering the U.S. Open for CBS Sports, Lundquist fills in for "Oh My!" for this one weekend.

He used to drive me up the wall on MNF, but I have kind of warmed up to him in recent years. I think he's a good pair with Enberg. Actually last season, Dierdorf was hyping up D.J. Williams on the Tampa Bay telecast long before any television personality was saying anything about him.

I actually would prefer him to some of the alternatives. Randy Cross drives me up a wall. If we were in the NFC, any game with Tony Siragusa on the sidelines would put me in a bad mood. Solomon Wilcots sucks. And Theisman and Paul Maguire are just painful.

Speaking of bad, who would you say your all-time least favorite announcer has been? Mine was when Charlie Jones and Todd Christensen teamed together. Charlie Jones was just old and senile, and Todd Christensen had a Thesaurus handy for each game so that he could impress everyone with words completely out of context for a football game. I still see him doing some college football on ESPN2, and he hasn't changed a bit.

Yes, Dierdorf's constant tantrums and his motormouth are annoying, but I admire him because he has respect for the game. He played in an era where players were more appreciative/respectful of playing in the NFL and that old school passion for football comes out in his telecasts.

I miss Charlie Jones, but I agree that Christensen is hands down my least favorite. He's so full of himself and his old playing days hatred for Denver was obvious in his telecasts. Christensen working the game was the worst part about the 91 Broncos-Oilers playoff comeback. Actually, one of my friends is related to Christensen and he thinks he's a **********.

Not me....I can't stand him...only Randy Cross is a bigger lickbag.

If I had a choice of announcers, I'd take Phil Simms & Don Criqui...Steve Tasker isn't too bad either IMO.

Give me Dick Enberg and Phil Simms like it used to be on nbc and i would be happy. I cannot stand jim nantz . Gumbel needs to comback to do play by play and ship nantz to the masters.

Unless that's sarcasm, Theisman will be on MNF starting next season with Al Michaels.

TELEVISION/RADIO at MIAMI
The Broncos-Dolphins game will be broadcast nationally on CBS (KCNC-Channel 4). Vern Lundquist will provide the play-by-play, and joining him in the booth will be Dan Dierdorf doing the color commentary. Armen Keteyian will be on the sidelines

Simms is the best color man around. Excellent preparation for the game. He makes a lot of points quickly and concisely, and makes very few mistakes. He's the "A" guy with the "A" production team, and they really do put on superb telecasts. We'll be seeing a lot of him this year for Bronco games, I hope.

I like Don Criqui better, but I can't fault Simms at all.

The Don Criqui/Steve Tasker team is damn good IMO.....very underrated.

Sorry. I didn't mind him for awhile, but once he passed 90 years old, he started sounding like a mix of Harry Caray and Pat Summerall during his drunk years. He just seemed to start mispronouncing names, getting the score wrong, etc. Some of it is a bias based on the crappy job he did (in my opinion) with the Rockies. Maybe he would have been fine if I just watched him for the occasional football game. But watching him 80 times a year or so (especially when he refused to live in Denver - seems like a prerequisite for a play-by-play guy that has to spend six months a year following a team) just got painful.

It's all about personal preference, though - right?

Anyone remember the Buccaneers game in the 80's that was broadcast without announcers? NBC (if I remember correctly) did it as a test for a late-season game without playoff implications. It was surreal, and almost kind of cool.

I don't even get the game this week, so I don't have to suffer thru the Dorfus. Is that guy for real?

Yeah, they're crisp, little BS, good preparation also. I don't think they get the lead time Simms gets - two days ahead of time, the best hotels, interviews set up, etc. Networks have tight budgets, just like everybody else.

Too bad. Any Bronc fan outside of the home area should be especially grateful for Den's continuous competitiveness, 'cause competitiveness in the AFC means getting a nationally televised game. So here's to Den putting a classy whooping on the Dolphins, so the Bronc fans all over can see SD at Den the week after, then KC at Den, then Den at Balt, and so on . . . . .
