Default Does the OM Provide a Life-Saving Service?

This was the last note written by Hunter Thompson:

Football Season is Over

No more games. No more bombs. No more walking. No more fun. No more swimming. 67. That is 17 years past 50. 17 more than I needed or wanted. Boring. I am always b****y. No fun – for anybody. 67. You are getting greedy. Act your old age. Relax – this won’t hurt.

Douglas Brinkley, in Rolling Stone, wrote, “An avid NFL fan, Hunter traditionally embraces the Super Bowl in January as the high-water mark of his year. February, by contrast, was doldrums time.”

We should have invited him to the Orange Mane. I would love to have heard some of his takes.

Hunter left the note for his wife, Anita. He shot himself four days later at his home in Aspen, Colo., after weeks of pain from a host of physical problems that included a broken leg and a hip replacement.

Written in black marker, the note was titled, "Football Season Is Over."

I don't think I could ever see myself taking myself out, but I deal with a lot of elderly customers....I can't picture myself depending on so many people as they do...I'll drive off that bridge when I get to it, I guess.

The Orangemane Offseason Suicide Hotline and Support Group.

Of course, if you're a Chefs fan, they usually have their suicide hotline up and running by week 6.

It was other issues. In fact, football seemed meaningless during that time. But, I'm MUCH better, now...
