Default Denver a soft Run D?

I'm cruising on SI.com to check some fantasy projections and I find this:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...oncos.dolphin/

on Ronnie Brown:

Rookie was outstanding at Auburn. He gets a soft run defense for his first NFL game, so we'll learn early what Brown is made of.

from the preseason games i saw, first stringers def looked weaker against the run than the pass. hopefully al and dj step it up for the real games.

This run d will be fine. When we played the colts we had to worry about a lot more then running the ball on first down. The other game the few snaps our starters took they were fine. I think Indy made us look vulnerable to the run but that is because of the many weapons they have.

Yeah our run D didn't look great in preseason. But if all preseason trends continue, then we'd be 16 - 0 right? We didn't stop the run well last preaseason and were a top 10 team in the regular season. This is just bad info.

They were using a vanilla defense during the preseason. Those who HAD to perform at a high level to impress the coaches (like Darrent Williams and other rookies) did so. I think the line will step up now that the season is starting....

With all the emphisis on getting to the qb I could see the Broncos run D being down... I seem to remember the 98 run defense being prone to the big play on draws... I could see that type of effect again. Soft though?? No... just not one of the better run stopping teams in the league.

Big difference between the Colts OL and the Fins OL.

They are predicting that the soft run D from the browns will come here since we're starting 3 of their Defensive Linemen. Obviously they don't know what LB'er is or they'd shut their f-ing mouth.

We didnt have a problem stuffing DD in Houston with 1 yard at the goalline and 4 tries...

That's funny how SI didn't mention that Brown averaged about 3.3 yards per rush in preseason.

The only reason the guy said Denver has a soft run defense is because of the Browncos thing.

Exactly, they are still basing this assumption on the DL stats of the Browns. Yes, Edge was able to run the stretch play, and yes, the Colt's OL is pretty darn good. Edge ain't no cardboard box either. I love double negatives when appropriate...with a dash of poor grammer sprinkled in. Ain't no doubt about it.

That wasn't about being able to stop the run...but more about Mannings ablilty to make our defense hesitate...watch...every play in that second quarter Manning had the defense guessing.

I liked this part:

K Olinda Mare Touchdowns should be hard to come by for Miami, so Mare should benefit. 2 FGs, 1 TD

I agree Garcia the one thing that stuck out was hangin' with the blocks too long along the line and Linebackers. Hopefully it was just the vanilla D and playing off the Colt WRs without Champ in there.

I think they'll be alright, but it bears watching how well Myers and Warren handle the run at the point of attack.

While the media like pointing to the Browns being awful in rush defense, that was as much their LBs, DBs and crappy offense keeping them on the field all day as anything else.

We'll see Sunday.

I have Brown as a #2 guy in one of my leagues. His ass will be firmly planted on the bench this week. If we don't shut this team down, we've got major, major problems.
I expect a great game from our D.
