Observations form Saturdays Games
I watched Bowling Green/Wis and CU/CSU.
CU - must get more consistent at WR and DB. Always start slow, but they were out played and out coached. Only won due to better players.
CSU - Tough, gritty team. They will surprise many and win 7-8 games this year.
BG- Omar Jacobs - great passer. Amazing vision. To nit pick, he does not handle the ball well. Should be a good pro if given time to develop.
Wis. - Would love for Broncs to get their center Riola in the second round next year. Very smart and mobile. Would have been a first rounder last year, but with all of the OL in next year's draft he will fall to second. Calhoun - why couldn't you run like that in Boulder. The answer is my guy Matt Bernstine. SoCal - hope you saw him. Devastating blocker. Did not see it in this game, but he can run the ball and is an excellent pass receiver. Great attitude.
OU - didn't see much of the game, but when I first switched over to it, my first thought was that Petersons style really exposes his legs and body and I would worry about him getting hurt. Next time I switched over they were helping him off the field. Guess it was high ankle sprain which probably kills his Heisman chances.

Good post Big Guy.
Did you catch junior left tackle Joe Thomas on Wisconsin? He was blowing people up on the move all game long. A sleeper to watch.
I am glad you mentioned Bernstein. He's a joy to watch. He was the fullback on my Preseason All-American team.
Omar Jacobs' accuracy was impressive. What did you make of his sidearm delivery?
Brian Brohm is a joy to watch right now on ESPN against Kentucky. I would rather see Denver land him than a 2006 QB classmate. Also, don't forget to check out the defensive studs on VT-NC State tonight! I want to keep an eye on Mario Williams.

I thought Michigan looked alright in the first game. A few fumbles helped them in the first half. Northern Illinois isn't a great team but a worthy opponent for the first game.
Norte Dame next week? I'm always nervous when we play them for some reason.

that RB from Colorado looked pretty damn good. Calhoun is awesome. 43 carries is a hefty workload. Laron Landry (S) of Georgia Tech is the real deal. complete safety...ballhawk...in on a lot of tackles...Georgia Tech's defense looked flat out awesome..blitzes were coming in from all angles and forced auburns QB to throw four picks...man I hope we get a safety in next years draft.
