Default Brian Calhoun can go to hell...

F'er left the Buffs for the Badgers and is putting up huge numbers in a shootout with Bowling Green.

36 carries, 250 yds and 5 td's.

For those college homers out there... Omar Jacobs, the great heisman canidate from BGU... his stats...

24/42 for 366yds, 5 tds and 1 int. This kid is the real deal.

Wow! Is all I got to say about Brian Calhoun. I made a thread a couple weeks ago about him, but it got lost in the server move. There have been rave reviews about him this offseason around here. But I didn't believe all the hype. Boy I sure was wrong.

I have no ill will towards Calhoun. The staff here wanted to move him to WR. He didn't. Hard to blame him for transferring.

Not only did Calhoun rush for 258 yards and 5 tds, he also had 34 yards recieving. But its not really to hard to believe, since he's a Wisconsin native. I'm glad to have him back home.

edit: I was wrong he had 39 yards recieving not 34. So a total of 297 yards from scrimmage and 5 tds. Not too bad, but Ron Dayne had 339 yards rushing in a game against Hawaii I think it was back in 1996.

Bad news for the Calhoun haters, Temple gave up over 300 yards rushing last week. Looks like Calhoun will be able to run wild again this weekend.

As long as Calhoun has a lead blocker he should keep putting up nintendo numbers in the OOC. I have a feeeling it will taper off come the B11 games. He will do the two step a few times and piss off the Wisky fans. He's got talent, no doubt about that. Things seemed to have worked out very well for the Buffs, Brian and Wisky.

we'll see when he wisconsin starts playing Big 10 teams.

Then again you guys don;t play OSU, who has the best D in the country, so Calhoun dodges one bullet.

I'm pissed that UW doesn't play OSU this year and yeah I know Calhoun hasn't really been tested yet.

You really need to watch college football if you consider Michigan to have a dominant defense

Not dominant but a VERY strong performance against good competition. He's a top 5 college RB right now.

Maroney, Peterson, Bush, Calhoun, Williams. Those are my top 5 right now with Maroney, Peterson, Calhoun and Williams being the most important player on their team...offensively. Actually, I think the GGs could be successful with a number of RB's, but Maroney is head and shoulders above the rest.

The size of these guys is as follows:

L. Maroney - 5'11'' 205#
D. Williams - 5'10'' 215#
Homer Bush - 6'0'' 200#
A. Peterson - 6'2'' 211#
B. Calhoun- 5'10'' 195#

By looking at the #'s real quick I make these "assumptions".

Maroney is a decent size back right now and could add a little weight with a good sized frame. I think 210-215 for him is possible. Perfect RB for our system... we might as well look at a bunch of their OL too while we're at it!

DeAngelo Williams has good size and great speed. At 215 he's pretty much ideal right now. I will say that I'm a bit suprised he is that heavy. He looks closer to 200. He has a big future!

Homer Bush is going to be a star. He could stand to add a little weight but you have to consider that he's so ellusive that he won't get hit that much. He'd be a good fit, but there's others that would fit just as well and won't be so "expensive".

Adrian Peterson will get better and better. He's an Eddie George sized back or will be by time he finishes his college career. Again, there's others that fit just as well that won't be so expensive!

Brian Calhoun is another Tiki Barber in the making. He's running in a great system and has good blocking and a "3 yards and a cloud of dust" FB in front of him... but he has great hands, speed, vision, and he's ellusive. I can't help but think of Tiki when he runs. I think he would do great in our system, but I'm not sure I want another undersized RB. Give me Maroney or Williams and I'm a happy camper!

Garrett Wolfe, RB of Northern Illinois, had 147 yards on 17 carries against that Michigan D, I would hardly call that even a good defense.

Michigan isn't a good run defense team, they have Gabe Watson and that's about it on that side of the ball.

I was talking about Michigan's defense not being dominant.

In 2 more hours Brian Calhoun will partake in the biggest game of his career. Brian it's time to show the nation what you've got. Good luck bro, you're gonna need it.
