Default Compare gas prices in your area...

I'm somewhat spared since my car doesn't need premium. Still, prices border on insanity with no ryhme or reason. Inside the beltway (dc) prices fluctuate between $2.87 to $3.96. Outside the beltway is even worse, with stations RIGHT NEXT to each other with 30-50 cent price differences. My cousin called from atlanta, where its already 4 and 5 bucks there. Some stations were even gouging for SIX bucks until the gov stepped in and warned of heavy penalties (prices dropped immediately).

My parents gassed up at Andrews Air force base this week at the commissary. A guy came out and changed the price sign while they were pumping...

So everyone in the LOOONG line got hosed. They even had the gall to change the computer while people went up to pay.

And the prez is asking for "gas conservation"...

Here in DC you won't have to worry about gas being four bucks a gallon...as of today I predict we'll be there by next week. Most stations are already on the wrong side of 3.

Don't know about anyone else, but I'm riding a damn goat to work. Or convert my car into one hell of a paperweight.

Power to the people.

(Topeka, KS) I filled up Wednesday at 2.99. It's now 3.09 everywhere for the cheap gas...

People have literally stopped driving here...traffic is down around the DC area beltway almost 80%. No cars on the roads, its like everyone fled the area. And the few cars on the streets are creeping around 30-50mph. Its like everyone is trying to eke out as much mileage as possible. I-395 is empty, so is I-295. The Beltway too, 95 north and south. WEEEERD....

Just over $3 for 87 octane.

I haven't gone anywhere outside of 2 miles in the past two days. I've probably driven about 5 miles during that time period. Tomorrow I'm going to my parents, 25 miles away. I'm not looking forward to it.

Here it's $1.26 a liter. Convert that to a US gallon ( 1 gallon = 3.785 liters )

That's $4.77 a gallon and that's f'd up.

Unleaded is around $2.99. I put $287 in OF1 the other day and it wasn't even empty. Diesel was $2.89. First time it's been cheaper than gas in years.

I'm taking a serious look at converting OF1 to run on grease. That's right grease.

Bio-diesel. My husband is seriously considering looking into this too.

Damnit, I keep reading that oil has dropped back down to pre Katrina prices and the a-holes here are raising the price! It went up here about 7 cents!
