Default Trent Green done? This is Second Hand Info

But somebody told me that 610 Sports here in KC mentioned that Trent Green might have a blood clot. Don't really know what this might mean.

No, I don't have a link.

Figured one of you would've heard this by now.

I know he has been hurt or had health problems but I never thought it was serious.

This is what I read from a KC fan on another board.

However, this might be more of a problem than we realize. So far they haven't been able to diagnose his problem, and are still running tests. The guys on 810 (or maybe it was 610) were panicking because Vermeil mentioned something about being "concerned" about the situation.

I'm kind of torn. I was kind of hoping that Pryce would be able to end his season. Blood clot would be good too.

Best I could find is from yesterday:

http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/new...s/12516785.htm

Quote:
Coach Dick Vermeil said he was not sure Green would be able to play in the final exhibition game Friday night at St. Louis. At the same time, backup Todd Collins still is hobbled by a hand injury and might not be ready for the season opener on Sept. 11 against the New York Jets.

Green has been bothered by numbness in his right foot and lower right leg. He played in only two series last week against Seattle before giving way to Jonathan Quinn, who was out of football when the Chiefs gave him an emergency call last week.

Vermeil said he will have a better idea of Green's condition on Wednesday.

"He's going through a battery of tests. Some of these tests aren't just five-minute deals," Vermeil said. "They take sophisticated equipment and sophisticated people to administer. We'll know a lot better tomorrow."

Vermeil said he remains confident Green will be ready for the season opener.

"If he couldn't play, it's a big hurt. But we don't anticipate that kind of evaluation, or findings when it's all said and done," he said. "I'm always concerned when you look out on the field and your starting quarterback's not on the field, and he's being given examinations."

That's a brain clot. It causes the brain not to function when you try to think.

We're you listening to "The A$$-Clown" Bob Dorkso on 810 this morning?

He had Green diagnosed w/ a blood clot @ 6:30 am, despite the fact that he has no medical background whatsoever. My dad had a pinched nerve in his back and had the exact same symptoms as Trent.

FWIW, they also had a physical therapist call into 810 this morning while I was driving into work. His take was, "I bet my license that its a nerve issue in the knee or calf." Basically, he thought that Trent might have some slight inflamation in his calf or knee that could be pintching a nerve in his leg somewhere.

He said it's VERY common in athletes and can usually be addressed through stretching, massage and some low grade anti-inflamatory medicine. His educated guess was that Trent missed practice due to an electonic current test that would have to be performed on the leg to determine the location of the ailing nerve.

I thought I'd post this as it made me feel ALOT better to hear an expert give their opinion, as opposed to the media speculating about something they know nothing about.

A blood clot could kill him if it moved into the wrong area. Lungs, neck, brain, etc.

A pinched nerve is just good news... any way you look at it. For Bronco fans and the Chorfs...

if its a blood clot, they can break it down without killing him. he may not be able to play, tho. sucks all around.

If they're having a press conference about it, I think we can eliminate the pinched nerve possibility.

wow.

first ive heard of this.
the strange thing is that doesnt sound like a blood clot.
i suppose blood clots could also give those symptoms, but those symptoms
are what you would normally see for someone with NERVE issues.
this is the kind of thing trevor felt last year, and the kind of thing i experience.
shooting pain down my leg, and i leau of pain sometimes its numbness down the leg.
considering his is all below the knee it makes me wonder if he has a nerve problem in his knee.
either way, it sounds like something serious.

i just saw this and of course youre responding to someone else, but just to be clear from my end im NOT referring to a "pinched" nerve.

what im talking about is a nerve that is being pressured by A DIFFERENT problem.
in other words, what affects my leg (same as pryce's last year) is the nerve.
the reason the nerve causes the problem is because the disc is split in half and one of the halves sits on the nerve root, which of course means it doesnt take much to aggravate it.

anyway, just wanted to be clear.
it does sound like something nerves could be responsible for, but my guess would be there's a more serious problem thats causing the nerve to react that way.

Vermeil asked the doctors to run every test they can imagine to find the answers. I don't know if it's a blood clot, but it's always a possibility.
