Default Opinions Please

We had this draft two or three weeks ago if you're wondering how I got MA so late. It's a twelve team league and I had the 2nd pick. You're required to pick 2 QB's, 4 RB's, 4 WR's, 2 TE's, 2 K's, and 1 D in the first 15 rounds. The 16th round can be any position. My WR's are kind of weak, but I think I made up for it in other areas. What do you think?

QB - Peyton Manning (1st)
QB - Jake Plummer (6th)

RB - Rudi Johnson (2nd)
RB - Curtis Martin (3rd)
RB - Ronnie Brown (4th)
RB - Mike Anderson (14th)
RB - Ryan Moats (16th)

WR - Michael Clayton (5th)
WR - Lee Evans (8th)
WR - Justin McCareins (11th)
WR - Greg Lewis (12th)

TE - Dallas Clark (7th)
TE - Randy McMichael (10th)

K - Jason Elam (9th)
K - Jeff Reed (13th)

D - Broncos (15th)

I don't like your Wr's but other then that it looks pretty solid. I have no faith in Lee Evans and Clayton plays with SOB so who knows about that.

Personally,

I think your stocked. In a twelve team league and you've got the top QB, and two top 20 rushers, 2 top 10 TE, a good distance kicker and the homer defense.

Unlike Rascal, I like Evans and think he surpasses moulds as the #1 receiver. I think however that you won't see his numbers increase until mid season once Losman starts seeing the field better. Michael Clayton will post great numbers this year. Remember, Rod Smith had his best seasons while SOB was tossing the pig to him. All he needs is a good line. Justin McCareins is a nice sleeper pick because he's reunited with Mike Heimerdinger and he's the only one on the team that will be familiar with the terminology and the routes at first. Ronnie Brown and MA are nice #3 RBs because you don't know if MA will be the starter all season, and by the time TB has the shot to take over for him, Ronnie Brown should be getting some decent Oline play.

Bottom Line:
You do need some depth at both the RB and WR, however your starting lineup is great.

The homer defense They aren't listed in the top 20 in most of the draft magazines that eveyone buys so I thought I could get my defense of choice late.

I agree with you on the depth. I usually like to start off with just one kicker and one defense and use the extra picks on the other positions. I wasn't able to do that in this league and they're pretty scarce now. I think Moats has the ability to put up some really good numbers if Westbrook isn't able to stay healthy, but I might have to consider trading him. The owner that drafted Westbrook wants him now so I might have some leverage.

I think McCarrians is a great pick and, obviously, you are loaded at QB and RB. Do you actually have to start 2 Qbs? If not, I think you have some great trade bait with Jake after a few good weeks. I'd also think about moving Mike if/once Tater starts getting some carries.

I just finished picking 14th in a 20 team!!! league. Obviously, in a 20 team league, RBs flew off the board, so I panicked and took Anderson early. Still, I think if either big Mike or Thomas Jones can stay healthy and hold on to the starting spot, I should be tough to beat. I'd love to hear what you guys think:

QB
C. Pennington (5th)

WR
T. Owens (2nd)
L. Coles (3rd)

RB
C. Portis (1st)

TE
B. Franks (7th)

WR/RB flex
Mike Anderson (4th)
Thomas Jones (6th)

K
O. Mare (12th)

DEF
San Diego (13th)

Bench
B, Griese (ugh) (9th)
A. Toomer (8th)
Clarence Moore (10th)
Chester Talyor (11th)
St. Louis (14th)
